Rose

It's been seven days since the incident with Luca, I haven't heard from him or even Daniel for that matter. But I don't care, I couldn't care. What's the point in caring? He's an arrogant arsehole with a fucked-up mind set on love, just like me. How the hell could it possibly ever work? Even fucking him would be a terrible mistake and I would have so much guilt for Daniel.

"Hi, Rose isn't it?" A girl I've only seen a couple times around the office walks over to my desk, I snap out of my thoughts and realize the time. I look up at the petite girl with auburn hair, her smile almost too perfect as she waits for me to answer.

"Yeah, Emily, right?" I answer quickly, turning off my computer, I slip my jacket on and pick up my handbag.

"Yes, I was wondering if you wanted to grab a drink? You probably have plans but you've only been here a few months and we've never spoken, I don't want you to think you have to but-" Her face reddens as she plays with the hem of her tiny skirt.

"Sure, but the first rounds on you." I answer quickly, giving her a genuine smile and a quick wink, her full lips smile brightly as she swings her bag over her shoulder. Strutting round my desk I walk next to her as we make our way through the office, only a couple of people are still sitting and working and will be 'til the late hours off night.

"How do I not recognise you?" Emily asks me whilst taking a sip of her wine, I shrug my shoulders in wonder. Our University was huge, but you always saw the same face after a routine kicked in for most people. I feel like I've seen Emily before, even recently but not inside work.

"Surely we must know some off the same people then?" She asks me again, I try to think of anyone I know who could possibly know Emily. Apparently, she was the year above me so it could be possible.

"Lauren Mettam?" I question her, intrigued to find out if she remembers my old best friend, she used to sleep with all the older students so she received a name for herself. Everyone knew her and at the time I didn't mind it, I guess I'm that girl now.

"Yes! She had a threesome with Harry Bell, and Donnie Richards in my year. Oh, isn't she engaged to Theo Saxby now? Lucky girl, he is so hot." Her words instantly shake me and I stop breathing, but she doesn't notice. Everyone knew Theo, he was popular in secondary school and even University and he had this compelling, charming personality.

"He's not so special." I mutter in reply, her face falters in confusion.

"Oh god what did I say wrong?" She worries, swigging her wine. My heart racing at the tiny thought of Theo and Lauren.

"Well he's my ex fiancé, he was cheating on me with my best friend, Lauren." I just about manage to say, I look down at my thumbs. God I really need to book an appointment to get infills.

"Oh shit, I'm so sorry" I hear her gasp before she leans over and grabs my hands squeezing them tight.

"Don't worry, I'm recovering." I chuckle, trying to sound sure of my words, when I know it's a bunch of bullshit. I know I'm a mess, an unstable mess.

"If a girl like you can't keep a man then the rest of us are screwed." She giggles to herself, I take a moment to look at her. Her bright hair straight as a pin, her dark eyes somehow bright and full off life. Her lips full, obviously not real but still I'm jealous of them, I can't help but wonder if her septum piercing hurt.

"Don't be stupid, you must get attention with your tiny frame, I'm jealous man." I look down at my massive chest and thick thighs.

"I do yes, I met the sexiest guy the other week in that new club, lust. I'm going to his after this." She closes her eyes in a lustful way, remembering her encounter. God he must be something.
