Rose

"Are you coming in?" I look over at him, his hands tightly squeezing the steering wheel. I watch his sharp jaw tense before he looks over at me.

"Ok." He answers; I'm almost hesitant, what's changed his mind set? He seemed so eager? Unlocking my seat belt, I open the car door and slide out. I wait for Luca to reach me, his fingers locking with mine as we walk through the empty car park.

The journey up to my floor is filled with an awkward silence; walking through the hallway we reach my front door. I let go of his hand, reaching into my handbag for my house keys, I can sense something is wrong with him. He's hesitant and that doesn't fit well with me, I find my keys.
"Rose, I'm sorry but I can't do this." His voice breaks, I take a deep breath. Trying not to take it personally, I turn to face him.

"Why? What's wrong?" I ask him, letting every doubt fill my head.

"It's not you; I need to sort some things out. I haven't been completely honest with- "His phone begins to ring, cutting him off. I roll my eyes, trying so hard not to let any anger boil over. I watch him as he pulls his phone out of his jean pocket.

Incoming call: Emily

"Do you need to go back into work?" I ask, getting the hint that something really isn't right.

"Emily's not my boss." He ignores the phone call; his eyes find mine. It hits me, hard. Why didn't I question it when we went to the beach, why would he be called in so late on a Saturday evening?

"I can explain Rose." His hand reaching for my face, I smack it away; I let every ounce of anger spill over.

"Who is she then?" I growl, taking a deep breath to calm myself. I look up into his gorgeous blue eyes, he slowly closes them.

"Can we go inside? And I can explain everything." He asks, his eyes opening. I can see them pleading with mine, I nod my head.

"Only if you tell me everything." I roll my eyes as I unlock the front door. Darcy is wrapped up on the sofa watching some horror film, Chloe's on the armchair with her headphones in reading a book. They both just wave at me and Luca; I give them a weak smile before walking down the hallway and to my bedroom.

I sit down on my bed, watching him as he slowly closes the door behind him. He walks over to my bed, sitting on the edge. "Emily isn't my boss, I'm sorry I lied about that." He looks at me, my stomach flips.

"Why does she keep calling you?" I find myself asking, regretting it instantly. Do I really want to know? Do I really care that much? Of course I care.

"I've been sleeping with her for a couple of weeks." He whispers. I watch as he runs his fingers through his caramel hair, my heart racing. Has he been playing me this whole time? Why has he been on my case but shagging some girl at the same time.

"So, this whole time, you've been trying to get into my knickers and sleeping with some poor girl?" I ask him, he nods his head but his eyes never meet mine. My heart pounding, he's been messing with me, he's been playing me. This is just typical for me.

"At first, yes. I will be honest and admit that, but it's different now. It's not just about having sex with you; I like you, a fucking lot!" He tugs at his hair; I keep my eyes glued on to him. How can I believe a word that he says? He's probably told her the exact same thing about me.

"Who is Emily?" I ask.

"The girl from the alley." He comes straight out with it, I lean back a little bit. Taken back, he told me just over an hour ago that doesn't have flings. That he doesn't do this kind of thing but he has been for weeks.
