Madison gave me a quick peck on my cheek as she entered my flat, smiling as always with a vibrant pink lipstick.

"Your house is great, very bright," she said,  lipstick smudge staining her teeth. I smiled at the small imperfection and offered her something to eat.

We made peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and sat on the couch. The memory seemed so small, lately my life has revolved around Hailey, but it was something Madison and I used to do with my little sister, Emily. Em would hog the remote and so we'd be stuck watching some cartoon while Mads and I would talk about the girls we thought were attractive, with a PB and J in one hand and a makeup brush in the other. Sometimes we'd paint a little bit of blush on Emily's already rosy cheeks and watch as she'd parade around the room.

I smiled faintly. Emily was gone, but Madison was still here, and I could tell by the sad expression on her face that she was thinking of her too.

Her eyes snapped from the black TV and to me with her world-famous smile on her face. "So, you like music now?"

I smiled. "Yeah, do you want to hear me play? I even write my own piano piece."

She scoffed. "Obviously."

I started to plink something out on my electric grand, something slow and meaningful, a bit painful, a bit happy. It sounded like a dream, one you know you were going to awake from, so it was bittersweet.

I had never considered giving it a name, but she was on my mind.

I called it "Emily."
