"What the fuck were you doing with her?" Hailey screamed, tears forming in both of our eyes.

"I didn't want to do anything, Hailey, she just grabbed me-"

She held her head in her hands. "I can't believe you would do this to me. I loved you. I trusted you-"

"I'm so sorry," I pleaded, hoping for even an ounce of forgiveness.

"You're just sorry you got caught."

I had never seen her like this her eyes were sharp and judgmental, her voice was sharp and pained. She was so angry.

To think, the girl I had met in the park that I had punched in the face, now looking at me as if she wished the roles were reversed, that I would be her infinite punching bag.

It tore my soul apart.

"Just, leave me alone. Got it?" She spat, grabbing her car keys from the rack on the wall. "I'll pick up my stuff in the morning. When you're at work or something. Just leave me alone. I'll contact you when I'm ready."

"When's that?" I asked, a sliver of hope in my voice.

"When I've healed. When I can figure out how to forgive you."

She paused before walking out the door, the tears streaming down her face in streaks of black mascara. "I gave you everything, my whole heart. I guess that just wasn't enough."

She closed the door behind her, and through my racking sobs, I could hear the engine of her car start and pull away from the house.
