(WE'RE HALFWAY THROUGH THE STORY!!!!! Thanks for reading and enjoy!!!!!!!!)

I woke up to a soft voice ushering me awake.

When I opened my eyes, it was mostly dark, except for the yellow light seeping through the crack in between the floor and the door.

Hailey was sitting up in her hospital bed, her eyes bright. "Hey, even I woke up before you, sloth."

I laughed a bit. "Well, your girlfriend wasn't just hit by a car."

"Well, you weren't just hit by a car." She patted the bed.

I got up and stretched a bit, then sat across from her on the bed. She pulled me closer and I tumbled on top of her, laughing. We adjusted a bit, so Hailey's arms were around my waist and I was facing the door.

"Hey, Jaimes?"

I turned to look at her. "Yeah, Hals?"

"Will you marry me?"

I kissed her on her forehead, then nose, then mouth. "I refuse."

I laughed a bit and she shoved me, and if the railing wasn't there, I would've tumbled off of the bed.

I kissed her firmly. "Let's do it. Let's get married."

She smiled and held me closer. "I love you, sloth."

"I love you too, Roadkill."

Another shove.

We talked away until both of us were too exhausted to keep our eyes open.

And then we fell asleep.

It was cliche, I know, but sweet.

Two girls who loved each other, laying in a hospital bed, as the lights outside of the door flickered a bit. Sleeping, despite the sun's rays seeping through the curtains. The nurses threw a fit in the morning.

But it was beautiful.

And life, life was beautiful, outstanding, wondourus, and tentacle-less.
