August

I was at Zane house right now because Lea had dialed me up cryin' and shit. All she told me was that he's being mean, and I don't know how to decode kid talk, but she's scared to be around him so I knew he did something.

"Lea, baby girl it's ya' uncle Aug." I knocked on the door.

I heard her strugglin' with the locks on the other side of the door for a few seconds before opening it. She was still crying and her cheeks were really red.

"Calm down, where ya' dad at?" I picked her up.

"H-He's outside." She sniffed.

"Alright, stop cryin'. Rememba' what I taught you?" I wiped her tears with the back of my hand.

"Crying makes me look weak, I know that but he's being really mean."

I heard something break out in the backyard and I shook my head.

"Sit right hea'." I put her down on the couch.

I walked to they backyard and saw shit torn up. This nigga was really on one.

"Dawg, what is you doin'?" I frowned while lookin' around.

"What you doing here?"

"Lea called me. The hell is up with you dawg? You said things was goin' good." I stepped over some glass.

"Someone keep callin' me from Brittney phone man." He shook his head. "I can't stop thinking about her, how she got beat, and all of that shit was my fault, Aug. I ain't even try hard-.."

"Dude, shutup. Brittney knows you woulda killed every nigga on sight if you wasn't gettin' jumped. She know you tried to protect ha', none of what happened that night was yo fault." I took the ciroc bottle out of his hand.

"Nah man, y'all didn't see the look in her eyes when she got pulled away from me. I can't live with this."

"So what? You just gon' leave Lea? Let her stay with some random people? Cus her bitch of a dad wanna give up?" I teased him so I can piss him off. That's the only way he'd get over the alcohol in his system.

"Man just leave." He waved me off.

I nodded my head and pulled at my chin hair. "Yea, we gon' leave." I went back inside and heard him followin' me.

"What you mean we? You not taking my daughter man."

"Yea I am. She scared as fuck to be around yo' drunk ass. I don't know what the hell you did to her or said, but you got her traumatized. She not gon' wanna stay hea'." I walked to Lea room.

"So what the fuck am I supposed to do? I'm here hurting bro, I lost the love of my life."

"I unda'stand that, but you gotta push through fa' Lea. She can't lose the only other important person in ha' life."

He sat down and I could tell he started to think. I grabbed Lea small suitcase and packed her some clothes and her hygiene stuff.

"Look, when you calm down and shit, you can come get ha'. She gon' be wit' me the whole time." I walked out the room.

When I got home, I put Lea in my bed, she was knocked out quick. I took ha' hair out the ponytail she had and put the blankets over her before cuttin' on the fan.

"You're gonna be a good father." My mom spoke, scaring the hell outta me.

"You can't be sneakin' up onna' nig-.."

"A what?" She rose a brow.

"Nothin' mama. You need somethin'?" I asked before cuttin' off the light and walkin' out the room.

"Nah, just wondering why Lea isn't with her dad. Is Zane okay?"

I shook my head. "To be honest wit' you mama, losin' Britt has hit him hard. He's not gon' get ova' it until a long time from here."

"Maybe he could go see someone at the place you went to - Where Nadia worked at."

"Nah, he not that bad." I chuckled. "He just needs some time."

"Alright, well let me know if she's hungry, because I know damn well you and Travis won't feed her." She giggled. "Night." She spoke before walkin' in ha' room.

I chuckled at her comment and walked downstairs and sat on the couch. My phone started to ring and it was that modeling place I had called fa' Zel.

"Yo, wassup." I answered.

"This is August, right?" The same girl I spoke to before spoke. Think her name was Michelle.

"Yea."

"Okay, uhm, can you tell me your girlfriend's full name?"

"Fa' what?"

She giggled over the phone like somethin' I said was funny. "I want her to come in tomorrow. From the pictures you sent me, she's very beautiful, and I can tell she has potential. She'd be a perfect model for us."

"See? What I tell y'all?" I shook my head. "Aight, ha' name Izel Alsina." I chuckled before spelling it out for her.

"Alright, I'll shoot you a text when I want her to come. Could you also make sure she brings extra clothes just in case we want a couple of shots."

"That's a bet." I nodded like she could see me.

"Alright, thanks. See you both tomorrow."

I hung up the phone and smiled to myself. Izel thought I forgot about that modeling shit.

Izel

Ever since August left, I been up watching movies. I couldn't sleep because my stomach was killing me and I kept feeling like I had to throw up.

There was a knock at my door and I groaned. I got up and looked through the peep hole and saw an unfamiliar face.

I opened up the door and the lady had a bat in her hand.

"Uh, Is there an issue?" I frowned.

"Y-Yea, I heard a scream come from this apartment. Is everyone okay?" She was shaking.

"The scream didn't come from here ma'am." I was about to close the door until I heard the scream as well.

"See!" She held her bat up.

"Uh, okay, I'll go with you to see what it is." I grabbed my jacket and slipped on my slides before walking out.

I didn't want this little old lady to be wondering around by herself.

We heard the scream clearer and once we found the apartment, she banged on the door with her bat.

We heard door unlock and the same guy I saw while jogging opened it.

He was shirtless and sweaty, I didn't even want to know who or why the person was screaming.

"You stalking me?" He smiled.

"Ain't nobody stalking you boy, keep that screaming down!" The lady was about to swing at him but I stopped her.

"Alright Mrs.Claudia." He chuckled. She looked at him up and down before walking off, mumbling a few words.

"So, you live over here?" He asked me.

"Yea, and I got this one hood ass nigga that's always there with me. Try me if you want little boy." I spoke before walking off from him.

I heard his laugh from a distance and it irritated my soul.
