Two weeks later

With the help of Travis and Zane, we finally moved everything into the new house, so I was unpacking , and of course Izel was trynna be a busy body and help out, but afta' that lil incident, I wanted her to rest.
Everything we needed was already unpacked and put where it needed to be. It was just the small stuff, like kitchen utensils, and stuff like that.
"Let's watch my show." I sat down on the couch next to ha'.
"Sugar Queen?" She looked at me before laughing. "August, you'd be the last person I'd think of to love this show."
"It's a interesting show." I chuckled and took the remote from ha'. "Plus Oprah made it. Oprah is interesting."
She shook her head before getting up. Someone was at the do'.
"Hey daddy!" I was bout to say something but I seen it was her actual dad at the do'.
"Hey princess." He chuckled, trying to hug her but he couldn't cus of the baby bump.
"Wassup Mr.Baptiste." I spoke while lookin' back at the tv.
"Hey Aug." He patted my shoulder. "I interrupt y'all couple time?" He chuckled.
"Nah, we was just chillin." I laughed while shakin' my head.
"I stopped by so I can get a tour of the house." He looked between me and Izel. "And so I can see how you holding up." He rubbed Izels belly.
"I'm fine. The doctor said she should be here anytime now." She smiled down at her stomach.
"Y'all excited?"
"Mo' than excited. Can't wait ta' hear ha' lil cry." I chuckled. "Izel can show you around and you can stay fa' dinna'. I'm cookin steak and baked potatoes."
"Oh, I didn't know you could cook." He looked surprised.
"Afta' livin unda' my mama roof fa' almost twenty years, I betta' know how ta' cook." I joked.
"Come on, I'm gonna show you upstairs first." She linked arms with him and walked upstairs.
My phone dinged, indicating someone texted me. It was Tatianna again.
I had her blocked but she found my new number somehow.
It was a picture message. I swiped the notification over so it would clear. I'll check what she want lata'.

Me and Lea was at Jump Zone so she could have fun with the neighbors kids. It's been a while since she had fun so I offered to take em all out.
"Daddy, we beat them in dodgeball!" Lea and the two other kids ran to me.
"For real?" I gave her a high five.
"Yea, me, Jamie, and Justin beat their butts!" She jumped up and down.
"Lea, they're starting again, let's go!" Jamie grabbed her hand and they ran back to the dodgeball area.
I laughed while watching them.
"Mr.Porter?" I turn around and see Lea's teacher, Ms.Cortez.
"Wassup Ms.Cortez." I put my attention back on Lea.
"It's a coincidence seeing you here." She sat down next to me. "I say that because I just got done talking to the principal about Lea." She smiled.
"Yea? What y'all talking about her for?"
"Well, I was telling him how good of a student she's been lately. She's getting student of the month. They'll announce monday."
