The only thing Sam seemed to talk about for the next couple of days was Star Trek. And although Isaac didn't know one thing about the series or any of the films, he listened and asked questions and tried his best to be supportive because he freaking loved seeing his friend so excited about something for once.

But although the movie did seem to occupy a lot of Sam's mind, he still continued to vent to Isaac every single day about all of the negative things in his life.

Isaac of course tried to remain positive because he didn't just want to leave his best friend hanging. This was a time in his life that he needed help and someone to talk to the most.

But then again, Isaac really wasn't a therapist. At all.

A lot of what Sam told him was upsetting and sometimes hard for even him to understand. It was a lot, especially when Isaac was going through his own seventh grade struggles. He carried a lot of his best friend's baggage on his own shoulders and he knew it couldn't be good for him.

"Why don't you go see a real therapist or something? I'm sure they'll be better at giving advice than I am." Isaac hints at the idea one day. They were in Sam's bedroom, listening to One Direction since it was the only place Sam seemed to allow it. When the two were together and alone was when Sam really seemed to let his guard down. It was kind of funny. "I'm sure your dad would be more than okay with you seeing one."

Sam doesn't move or glance away from his laptop once. The room was silent for a couple of seconds, except for the sound of Rock Me playing from his phone speaker.

"I don't think it'll work. Besides, I'm sure those places are expensive. Why spend the money when I have you instead? You're freaking great at advice."

So that was that. Isaac tried his best to take the boy's resistance as a compliment but it was hard when he was bombarded with so much negativity. He decided to stay quiet about the subject of therapy ever since their very brief conversation about it.

Saturday rolls around and Isaac was pretty excited to hang out with Sam. Was it bad that he was looking forward to no complaining from the boy? He couldn't complain, he had everything to be happy about today.

Was that selfish?

Isaac meets the boy at his house since his dad was going to drive them to the theater. Sam insisted on them leaving extra early so they had good seats, which made sense because it was opening night and it was bound to be busy.

The weather was pretty awful too, late March weather really did suck ass in Vegas. The rain and thunder were pretty bad but it was not stopping them from having the time of their lives tonight. Isaac was more anxious to see Sam's reactions to the film than anything. They were always the best, especially when he was excited and passionate about whatever it was he was reacting to.

The ride to the cinema lucky wasn't long and milder than Isaac expected, thank god people weren't driving like they usually did when it rained. Vegas locals were the absolute worst at driving in any kind of weather besides sun and dry. Rain? Ten car accidents in ten minutes. Windy? Twenty car accidents in ten minutes. The cycle went on.

"I don't know if I want sour gummy worms or popcorn." Sam sighs out dramatically as his dad circles the parking lot in search for a spot. The place seemed pretty crowded already, Isaac was glad they got here at the time that they did.

"Just get both. My sister gave me some extra cash we can spend." Isaac murmurs and shrugs as he gazes out the window at the soggy world. Sam's eyes light up right away, seeming very fond of that idea.

"Alright, sounds great. Thanks man." Sam continues to beam.

It felt good making other people feel good, so Isaac was smiling pretty wide as well.

As soon as they find a parking spot, Sam and Isaac make their way into the theater and to the line that was already formed at the ticket booth. Luckily it wasn't a long wait and they were able to get their tickets and food right away. Sam gets his gummy worms and popcorn like he wanted and Isaac was pretty content about it.

"Wow, it's not even that full yet." Sam comments as they enter the theater, wobbling up the steps with his arms full to a row toward the top. What was the point of seeing a movie if the view wasn't from the very top?

The two chat and munch on their snacks as they wait for the previews and then for the movie to start, which doesn't take long whatsoever. When he was with Sam, time seemed to pass by so damn quickly. He wasn't sure if that was a good or bad thing.

The movie was pretty good despite Isaac not understanding anything. The effects were definitely cool and it got him interested about the past million Star Trek films that were previously released. Maybe he and Sam could binge-watch them all one day.

"God, that was great." Sam claps his hands after the movie ends and the credits begin to roll. His face was all scrunched up from how big he was currently smiling and his blue eyes were bright and perfectly illuminated from the giant screen in front of them. Isaac couldn't help but to stare because he's never seen eyes as pretty as Sam's.

Pretty? No--cool. His eyes were cool.

Isaac looks away with a smile and slight flush. Thank goodness for the darkness that still overpowered the theater.

The two end up being the last ones to be sitting there, which was awesome since they had an entire empty theater to themselves for a few minutes before a custodian would come and ask them to leave.

"To be honest, I didn't get one thing from that movie. But it was good!" Isaac snorts and leans his head back against the red velvet chair, lolling his neck to the side to look at his friend. Sam cackles and grins, turning in his seat so his whole body was facing toward him. He was clearly playfully bothered by his statement.

"I'm so offended, even though I know you're not into it. You need to get into it though, Is. I need somebody to thoroughly discuss it with. It's like, my favorite thing ever. Besides you, of course." Sam smirks and teasingly nudges his side.

Isaac goes red, but this time he wasn't protected by the dimness of the theater. The lights were on and very bright. Too bright.

"Oh shut up, I'm pretty sure you like many other things more than you like me. I'm just.. me." Isaac snorts and shrugs off the fact that he was freaking blushing. He hated himself so much right now.

Sam only smiles and shrugs his shoulders as well.

"I don't think I do."
