The loud crashes and screams put images into my head that the smoke would let me see. I could hear my name just meters away. Whoever was calling out had so much desperation and panic flooding their voice. I tried to reply but I was to weak, the smoke was making it hard to breathe and my ribs hurt like hell. I could feel weight pushing down on my upper body, but I hit my head and all the chaos around me was just a blur.
"Anna please! Answer me! Tell me you're alive!"" It was a boy, he was screaming out for me, I wanted so badly to reply. I could feel the pain in his voice. He sounded so wounded and broken. My vision started to blue and blackness started to overtake my sight, and in my last moments I remembered who that desperate voice belonged to. It was Michael.
My body struggled to move, and in my last moments of consciousness all I could manage was to mumble the words "Michael help..." Even in my state of daze I knew that would never be loud enough, and before the blackness took over I could hear his cries grow more distant in every moment, until there was only blackness and it all went silent.
I shot up from the ground I was sleeping on, my heart raced and my whole body trembled. I scanned the area with still wide and shaken eyes, before I realized it was only a dream. Using the sleeve of my dark black sweatshirt I wiped away sweat from my forehead, and pulled myself to my feet. The place that I had made my home for the night was a fairly small hole I had dug into the side of a mountain, in order to reach it you needed to climb, which made it extremely hard for monster to reach, but I wasn't going to stay here. It was obvious that this piece of land is owned by other people, strange buildings and arenas flooded the land. It was unlike anything I had ever seen. Whoever made this was extremely talented.
I swung my bag over my shoulders and held my diamond sword in hand ready for anything, At least I thought that I was. I treaded lightly, trying my best to avoid any monsters that hunted in the night. I heard a rustle behind me and turned in an attempt to defend myself but I was pinned before I could even pulled out my sword. I struggled under than man, he kept me down effortlessly, he was much larger than I was. I calmed myself down and glared at him as his friend took my sword, how long had the other man been there. I looked back up at the man that had me pinned with an emotionless face. "I'm Not a threat."
"I have people to protect and I'd rather not take a strangers word for it." He had a mustache, dark, short, choppy hair and sleepless eyes. He had on strange armor that I had never seen that was dark green and complex. His friend held his helmet as he studied us from above. Although I was still glaring I could understand, I knew how painful it was to lose those close to you. He grabbed my wrists and held them together before he pulled us both up. Then he tied my hands together, I knew it was no use to struggle but I did anyways, mainly to just make this all as annoying as possible for the two men. "What's your name?" He demanded as he finally finished tying my wrists.
"Anna, what about you two fuckers?" My voice held a harsh and cold tone. I thought about lying to them about my name but there really was no point in doing so.
"I'm Geoff." He said with a faint smirk on his face and he laughed quietly to himself as we all walked to a large building in the distance. It was grey, made of stone, and it reached toward the sky and went past the clouds, It was bigger than anything I had ever seen in this world. Larger than the mountains even.
I shot him a cold glare and snarled "Why the hell are you laughing?" I didn't want to walk with them but if I managed to escape this 'Geoff' his friend would easily get me after. Why hadn't the other man said anything, all he did was stare at me.
Geoff shook his head, still smiling slightly. "You remind me of my friend. " I tilted my head slightly and looked at him, confused.
I just shook my head and changed the topic. "So who's your friend?"
The so far nameless man spoke "Im Ryan." His voice was deep. His hair was dirty blonde, or maybe light brown, he seemed friendly despite his muscular and mature appearance, his expression stayed warm and friendly. His eyes were dark brown and some stubble covered the some of his face.
We continued to chat, both of us not giving out any more information other than the fact that I travel around to often to have a real home and they own this large amount of world. They brought me to a town that the grey skyscraper towered over. In the middle there was a symbol made of green and black wool, surround the wool ground there was a dirt house with art on it, a much smaller stone home, a smaller, cheaper looking dirt home, and then two wooden houses, one of which rested on stilts. "Is this your village?" I said turning back to Geoff and Ryan. All Ryan did was nod.
Geoff pulled me into the middle of the small town, and called out for a man named jack. After a moment a man stepped out of one of the houses. He had a messy untamed beard, and his hair was a reddish brown and he had glasses. He smiled when he looked at Geoff but his happy expression turned into a confused one when his eyes met mine. "Who's this?"
Geoff spoke for me while I remained quiet figuring it was best, they all seemed friendly enough but you never know. "This is Ana, we found her wandering around.
Jack shrugged and offered a friendly smile much to my surprise. "Well then, Im Jack." Why the hell was he being so nice, wasn't I trespassing or something? He didn't even seem skeptical about me. His attention went back to Geoff "Should we get the others out here then?"
Geoff nodded then called out loudly enough to make me wince. "Hey boys! Get your asses out here!" I mean did he really need to yell that loudly right in my ear?
The first one to come out was a tall thin boy with messy blonde hair, he had bright green eyes and a bright childish smile. He worn all green, his pattern was like a creepers, and he had a long scarf flowing behind him, that was also green, but darker than the rest. Right after him a man with slightly tanner skin came out, he had on what looked like a suit, and a black and red cape, in his hand he held a... a rose? Weird. After them came out a familiar face, "What is it this time?" he groaned his brown curls were trapped by a hat. He looked so different but it was him, he hadn't looked at he yet, he was to busy being mad about something. My eyes went wide and a small smile tugged at my lips as tears blurred my vision slightly.
"M-Michael?" I said, my voice was soft and delicate for once, like it was when i was younger. Geoff and the rest of the guys all gave me a confused look as Michael turned to see me, his eyes grew wide, and just like me tears started to form, Im sure that his tears were less noticeable though .
"A-Anna?.." He darted at me and wrapped his arms tightly around me, as he buried his face in my shoulder. "I thought you were dead!" His voice shook slightly, and all i could do was smile. Geoff untied my hands, since it was pretty obvious that I wasn't going to hurt anyone here. I wrapped my arms tightly around Michael and dug my face into his chest and sobbed. I couldn't help it. I didn't want to cry in front of these strangers but I missed him so much.
"Im sorry." I mumbled into his chest, keeping my arms snaked around him. He let go and placed his hands on my shoulders so he could look at me. His brown eyes were so warm and welcoming, and his smile was contagious. "I misses you so much." I said as I looked up at him. He had his hood up, it looked like a bear. "Nice sweatshirt.." I added smiling, his outfit was so different, but I loved it. He was the only family I had left.
"Going with the 'all black' look I see." He replied with as he pushed my hair out of my face.
The boy dressed as a creeper said awkwardly from the back "Anna's your name, right?" Michael and I laughed as I just nodded as we both realized how awkward this must've been for the other guys.
