Nerah: *graduation day*

"This is it," I said softly while looking into the mirror. Jack sat on my bed. I felt a tear roll down my cheek.

"Nerah, why are you crying?! School is over! We should be celebrating!" Jack groaned.

"School is over for you, Jack. I still have college."

"Right." I smiled. "So... College, have you decided where you're going?"

"Yes, I have."

"And when are you going to tell me?"

"I've decided to go to Centenary University in New Jersey," I said with a sigh.

"Never heard of it."

"It's a private liberal arts school."

"You got into a private school?"

"Yes, I did," I said with a laugh.

"And you're actually going?!" Jack asked in disbelief.

"You don't sound happy..."

"I am happy but New Jersey is all the way across the country! Too far from me, too far from Za... Grayson!" I sighed.

"Grayson's family is from New Jersey."

"But mine isn't!" Jack argued. I laughed.

"Jack, this is the next chapter in our lives. We're not little babies anymore. You're going to have your huge break in the music industry with the band and I'm going off to college to start a new and brighter life," I said softly. He pouted. I held his face in my hands. "Jack, we're entering the real world. This is all we've ever dreamed of. You'd be living your dream as a musician, and I would be going off to college to study."

"We were supposed to move in together, Nerah! Have in a penthouse that overlooks New York! And if neither of us is married by 30, we'd marry each other! Remember?!" 

"Jack, we were 10!" Jack groaned. He rolled his eyes.

"Nerah, Jack, you guys are going to be late!" My Dad called from downstairs.

"We have to go prep for Graduation," I said softly.

"Nerah, you can't leave me. I still need you."

"And I still need you too!" I held his hand and looked up into his eyes. "Just because our lives are taking us in different directions doesn't mean you're out of my life completely. You're always going to be my best friend, Jacky. We'll always have this."

He smiled and a tear rolled down his cheek. I quickly wiped it away before moving his curls out of his face.

"Forever," he said while holding his pinky out.

"And always," I finished while locking mine with his. I smiled before attacking him with a tight hug.

"I love you, Nerah..."

"I love you too, Jacky." I smiled.

Graduation was officially over and we were excused out of the building to find our families. I immediately found mine and my dad gave me a tight hug. I hugged Faye and Edith and took a whole bunch of graduation pictures with the friends that have been with me from the beginning. Jack, Colby, Corbyn, and Christina. We all laughed.

I felt a tap on my shoulder and turned to see my mom. She smiled a bright smile and I gave her a hug.

"Congrats, honey," she said into my ear.
