Ave
Calum and Ava looked at each other slowly. Could it be Luke? Ava thought.
Ava slowly walked over to the door across the room. She looked through the peep hole. She breathed out a sigh of relief. It was Luke.
Ava swung the door opened and raised her eyebrows, silently questioning him as to why he was here.
"Hey Ave, I just wanted to- wait, is that weed?" Before she had the chance to reply, Luke had already pushed past her and found Calum standing in the living room, in stance, looking like he was getting ready to fight someone. Once Calum saw that it was only Luke, he calmed down and his arm fell to there sides. "Your'e smoking weed... with Calum?" The way Luke said his name didn't sound like he was too thrilled.
"Hey, watch the tone mister," Calum sat back down and grabbed the joint and put it to his lips before Ava had time to pro-test.
Ava rolled her eyes and closed her door before someone outside heard their conversation.
"Yes, Luke. I'm smoking weed with Calum." Luke looked offended, almost as if she should have invited him to smoke with her instead of Calum. Luke didn't like the thought of Ave alone with anyone else, especially when that anyone was Calum."Why are you here?" Ava asked as she snatched the joint from Calum's hands once again. He whined and tried to reach for it lazily. Ava rolled her eyes and put it back on the holster on the table. Luke looked down at her and tried to remember the real reason he was here. It was to talk about what had happened between them before she climbed her way up the fire escape, but he wouldn't dare talk about that in front of Calum.
"I.. I just wanted to see what you were up to, thought you maybe wanted to go get dinner with me at that one place we've been talking about?" Luke looked at Ave with hope in his eyes, praying she'd say yes to hang out with him instead of Calum. Ava swallowed the spit in her mouth and glance over at Calum. Calum widened his eyes and slowly shook his head, bringing his hand up to his throat and proceeded to act like someone was strangling him. Ava shook her head lowly, and Luke noticed, and turned around just in time to see Calum lower his hands and act like nothing happened. Luke was beyond confused. Ava had told Luke that Calum was just a friend from work, could she have been lying?
"Um, Luke.. I'm a little busy right now, do you think we could talk about this another time?" Ava wanted to go out with Luke. Like, really wanted to. In fact, once Luke left she would probably hit Calum upside the head with the hardest object she could find for being here at this very moment.
Luke felt his heart shatter as he watched Ave choose Calum over him. Maybe her and Calum were a thing, Luke thought. Maybe she doesn't feel the same way as he does about her.
Luke nodded slowly, a frown plastered on his face as he took a few steps backward. Ava felt a weird feeling in her chest when she saw the look on Luke's face. She didn't know how to explain it, but she almost yelled out that she did want him to stay, and that she did want to go out to dinner with him. But she didn't.
"Okay, well I guess I'll see you tomorrow? Unless, we're not seeing that movie anymore.."
Ava shook her head so fast she thought she might have broke her neck.
"No! We are definitely still seeing that movie, Iv'e been wanting to see that for weeks."
Luke's mood instantly got better once she saw how eager she was to make sure their plans were still on, but he still felt sad.
Luke nodded, and turned around and walked out the door. Right as the door clicked shut, Ava grabbed the pillow sitting on the love seat and chucked it at Calum's stupid face.
Calum groaned. "What was that for?" He rubbed the side of his face in pain. For once in her life Ava thanked herself for having shitty, hard pillows.
"That's for smoking my joint."
Calum looked into the distance and nodded slowly to himself in understanding. Ava then threw another at him, hitting him in the face again. Calum groaned in pain again.
"I only smoked one of your joints, Ava! Not two," Calum rubber the other side of his face in pain.
"I know. That one was just for fun."
