2. The Battle of Saltharbour [Part 2]
Like lions against ravaging tigers, the army of Seawolf Volca charges at the attacking army of Frederick Coshaq. The king's guard accompanied by amateur soldiers and villagers against the heavily armoured and weaponized soldiers from Cliffside.
The fight, though, is fierce and balanced at a first glance. The defenders hold their ground with zeal, but after a while, the better quality of the attackers' army, both in terms of weapons and numbers, starts to give an edge to Seawolf's enemies.
The defender numbers become thinner, more and more men talk to the ground and it's now clear that Frederick's army is winning the fight.
"DAD! WE NEED TO FALL BACK NOW!" Frederick shouts to his father who stands up to fight on the front lines.
"I'm not fleeing, son!" Seawolf shouts while the enemy lines push theirs back gradually.
"King Seawolf, the war shall be judged here by your death, we fall back to the forests, we will fight another day." Fidel tells him.
Seawolf seems skeptical for a while, while fighting the enemy army, he then, with a slice of his axe, opens a carriage carrying stacked barrels. The barrels fall on the enemy and Seawolf buys his men's time to withdraw.
While Frederick's men pursue fleeing Seawolf, he finds ways to keep the enemy away from his men, he grabs straws and haystashes and sets them ablaze.
After tiring running Seawolf and his men reach the forest with its superbly tall trees that almost entirely covers the sky and protects them from the heavy rain. Everybody then lays down exhausted feeling safe and proud they escaped from the enemy.
"I can't see them, we made it comrades" Fidel says and sits on a chopped tree trunk.
Suddenly, though, a melodic whistle can be heard and Frederick's men appear surrounding everyone.
"Darver! We found them!" A soilder says and the enemy points their armed bows at them.
"Hold on archers." Darver orders a d everyone puts their bows on their cases.
"So... What do we have here." Carved says while approaching the exhausted Seawolf army.
"While chasing you all around the city and into the woods like hunter and deer. I was reminded of a beautiful song we've been gearing since our young ages, it went like... We are the western warriors and we shall never flee! Such a sad thing to see the western warriors... doing the exact opposite." Darver says and everything around them is silent and calm, the rain has stopped and the birds can be heard singing on the top of the tall trees.
"Ok! No more talking! Finish them off soilders. I'm leaving it all for yourself, I have a warm hug waiting for me back in the ship." Darver says and starts walking away from his soilders
"What the fuck are you talking about." A soilder says angrily.
"I'm kidding! I'm going to Prince Frederick to tell him Seawolf Volca and his son are dead and glory is ours!" Darver says and can be seen getting back into the city.
"Let's end this woodsmen!" A soilder of the Coshaq army says and starts swinging his axe around. When suddenly eerie whistling can be heard by the top of the trees, it's not by the birds, which are flying away like a storm is coming. It's human whistling, which fills the Coshaq Soilders with terror.
Tomahawks and arrows then, fly from the trees at the heads of the enemy army, the sudden attack puts them out of control, making them run for their lives, but always some arrow manages to hit them.
