Oluchi spotted Lanre watching from the front of the class. She hurried to him. "Thank God, Please come and do something or Nnenne would kill Adaeze" she explained quickly.
Lanre actually wanted to give Nnenne the chance to confront Adaeze well, to him, she deserved all of it. "I know you're happy to see her standing up for herself, but biko she would kill that idiot if you don't do something. Please stop her" she further clarified.
Lanre rushed to Nnenne and held her back from behind by her waist, she turned her neck to see him and struggled with his grip.
"Lanre, Leave me let me finish this girl"
"Please, leave me!!!" She said
"It's okay, it's okay! You don't need to be like her!" He reminded.Adaeze seeing Lanre decided to rattle her mouth as if she was never scared. "How dare you slap me?!" She shouted. "Are you still talking?!" Nnenne asked, furiously as she still struggled.
"Now I would talk, I have given you time to throw your rubbish tantrum and feel like a boss. You have forgotten who you're dealing it! And I would make sure you pay for this!"
"Pay for what?!" Lanre said as he let go of Nnenne and stood between them.
"As far as am concerned you deserve all those slaps, I have seen countless times the kind of person you are, so you better get out of here before I loose my temper!" Lanre said. Nnenne was about to rush Adaeze yet again but Lanre held her in his arms to calm her down. Nnenne broke down and cried profusely as lanre consoled her and carried her out.Everyone was still stunned watching after them. Some cautioned Adaeze, wanting to know what she did to Nnenne, but she shunned them.
"Babe! I'm sorry oh, but you don loose that guy! I mean all your plan just dey bring them closer!" A friend of Adaeze's pointed out.
Adaeze snapped to her instantly "shut up your mouth! You should know me by, that I don't fight to loose. The end would justify, but I promise, She would pay for this insult!!" She said and stormed off.

Lanre took Nnenne to an empty lecture hall and tried to calm her down but it wasn't easy.
"Why did you stop me?" Nnenne sobbed
"You know she deserves all of it!"
"I know, but that's not the way to go about it!" He said, comfortingly.
"She destroyed my life Lanre! " she reminded.
"What if I had died? What if I didn't have someone like you to be there for me? I have lost everything because of her! I lost my pride to a beast after keeping it for so long. She made all my efforts go to waste, she has scarred me in a way I can never recover from. My supposed to be Special first time turned out to be a horrendous unforgettable experience. A slap is nothing compared to what I had to go through in the hands of that man, i have nightmares everynight, i live in fear, because he's still out there.""Shhh!.. I would never let anything happen to you. You don't have to be scared" he comforted her as he stroked her hair against his chest.
"i thought she was my bestfriend but she was just a ruthless monster" she wailed further into his chest as he rubbed her head.
A thought jumped into lanre's head as Nnenne kept crying. He mused back to when Oluchi imformed him about Adaeze plan.
"—Hold on" he cut in, raised her from his chest and wiped her tears.
"you want to punish her for what she did to you right?"
"Yes, I want her to suffer just like I did!" She answered strongly and wiped her puffy eyes.
"That can definitely happen." He said.
"How?" The anger suddenly left her face and she looked at him confused."If Adaeze requested that you meet Ayomide for some money, then I'm very sure that she must have called him to put the plan together" He explained. Realization crept up Nnenne's face.
"We just need to get her phone call records to give to the lawyer" he mentioned.
"That would prove they were accomplices and put them both behind bars for a long time." He made clear
"And you'd get justice for everything they both put you through""Let's go na" she sniffed and said quickly as she turned to leave but Lanre held her hand.
"I would go, you on the other hand, would stay here" he said
"why?" Nnenne asked, straight faced.
"Ugh, let's see" he rubbed his chin while looking upwards
"You just slapped the shit out of her and you could probably punch her jaw in if she decides not to give you the phone" he teased.Nnenne squinted her eyes and pouted her lips, looking at him.
"And what makes you think you'd do a better job?" She asked.
"I have my ways" he smirked
"But, I want to be a part of this plan" She whined.
"Okay detective Nnenne, you know what your job would be?"Nnenne looked at him her eyes shining with anticipation.
"What?"
"home duty!" He said with so much hype.
Nnenne's face dropped.
"You get to watch over the house and wait for news" he explained further as he twisted her nose softly.
She slapped his hand off and walked away.
"You're welcome!!" He teased, smiling and shouting at the top of his voice to make sure she heard. She glared at him, her cheeks flushing as she walked away.Lanre watched her, smiling sheepishly to himself as he wobbled his head. After Nnenne had dissapeared into the distance, lanre headed to search for his best friend, Clarence.
