Genesis,

"Damn," Chris grunted with a smirk.

I mushed my eyebrows together, "What?"

"You must really be feelin' a nigga to want me to meet ya fam." He chuckled on the other end of the phone. I pursed my lips seeing as he hasn't let this go since I asked this morning.

"Are you on the way?" I huffed while tiding things up in my room.

It was evident that he was nervous, I could slightly hear it in his voice but this meant alot to me. Since I agreed to go to New York with him, I made an proposition which is he has to meet my parents. He was supposed to head back to LA today with everyone else but since I basically begged him to come he agreed.

Throughout the times we hung out before making things official he's been over my house countless times. He even met my sister Giana a few times and they get along perfectly. For most people it seems pretty soon to introduce Chris to my parents but they can read me like a book. They can tell when I start investing my time in a new guy that I really like. To be fair, my dad was the one that pushed for this to happen.

"I'll be there in twenty minutes." He sighs as I squeal.

"Great! Thank you, boo." I coo'd. "Oh and try not to wear a hat, my mom doesn't like that."

"'Ion really have any issues with the ladies, no matter the age or size." He chuckles as I shake my head.

"Boy, goodbye." I disconnected the call while twirling my finger into my curls. Chris was mainly nervous about today because of his past and I can understand that. But I made everyone in my family promise me not to bring up anything resulting in Ms. Fenty.

"So is he gonna come?"

I spun around seeing Giana standing in the hall doorway. Being as Chris and Giana got along so well I can tell she was partially excited from him to come. I wouldn't be surprised if she has a small crush on him by the way she's constantly cheesing at every remark he makes. Besides, everyone in my family knows when Giana likes someone she becomes attentive.

"Yeah," I nod while dusting off my shirt. "You got our side right? You know, if dad start grilling him or whatever."

"Dad's not gonna do that. If he does you can always bring up how his nickname was Sparkle in the navy." She snickered as I smiled.

"He'll kill me." I laugh while shaking my head. "Let's go see what type of fine china mama tryna dust off."

Giana and I skipped down the stairs to see my dad going out the backdoor—most likely to the grill, and my mom bringing out her fancy pillows she usually brings out on holidays.

"Ma, what are you doing?" I snickered seeing she had the table set for Thanksgiving dinner.

"What? I like to brings these out when we have new company." My mom grinned while shrugging.

"Yeah, but we're eating BBQ." Giana pointed out, my mom kissed her teeth.

"Well I know Genesis probably had him over here with the house lookin' all kinds of way. He needs to see we have fancy things too." She crossed her arm over her chest causing me to damn near choke on my spit.

"Ma!" Giana huffed while tilting her head.

"Wait, what?"

My mom eyebrow shot up. "Oh you thought we didn't know? Gia told us the minute we picked her up from practice. Why did you think we really want to meet him?"

"Nobody comes in and out of my house without seeing me first," My dad retort as he walked back in with a rack of ribs.

I cut my eyes at Giana as she rocked back and forth on her heels while poking out her lips. When she glanced up to meet with my mug she shrugs.
