The Chamber of Secrets Through Another's Eyes

Chepter 12: Mrs Norris...Petrified

It had been after dinner. Aura, Morana, Xenia, and I were all leaving the Great Hall together. We were going to go to bed, and we all went the same direction along with everybody else in the school. Everybody stopped when they looked at something.

"What are they looking at?" I asked.

Morana looked through the crowd. "Come on. This way to see what they're looking at."

Morana lead us through the crowd. I was the tallest at five foot two by American standards, and I couldn't see anything. Morana was the shortest at four foot ten, so of course she'd try to go through. We pushed through to the front, and saw what I thought was blood on the wall. It said:

THE CHAMBER OF SECRETS HAS BEEN OPENED. ENEMIES OF THE HEIR, BEWARE.

I heard Aura gasp.

"I know, right?" I asked, still looking at the blood on the wall.

"No," Aura half-whispered. "That."

Morana, Xenia, and I looked at what Aura was looking at. We all gasped with her.

"Oh dear God," Morana said.

Hanging from the torch bracket was Filch's cat, Mrs. Norris. And she wasn't moving. I took a step forward, and splashed some water. I looked down, and the floor was wet.

"What the heck?" Xenia asked. She looked into the crowd, going on her toes. She was the second shortest, only five feet tall and half an inch, and Aura was a half inch taller than her.

"Grr. Where's Penelope?" Xenia looked at Aura and me, who were frowning at her. "My friend. Penelope Clearwater. A prefect. I usually go to her when I'm stressed."

"Oh, it's okay!" Aura said. "We'll help!" Aura walked to Xenia and hugged her. Xenia hugged her back.

"Enemies of the Heir, beware!" I heard Draco yell from the crowd. "You'll be next, Mudbloods!"

Draco pushed through the crowd, and grinned at Mrs. Norris. Morana looked at him and smiled. Aura looked over at Draco and rolled her eyes.

"What's going on here?" Argus Filch asked, coming through the crowd. "What's going on?" He saw Mrs. Norris and fell back, clutching his face.

"My cat!" Filch shrieked. "My cat! What's happened to Mrs. Norris?" He looked at Harry Potter, who was a little past Aura and Xenia.

"You!" Filch screeched to Harry. "You! You've murdered my cat! You've killed her! I'll kill you! I'll -"

"Argus!" Dumbledore yelled. I looked back at him, and he was accompanied by some other teachers. Dumbledore went past Harry, Ron, and Hermione to get Filch off of the torch bracket thingy. "Come with me, Argus. You, too, Mr. Potter, Mr. Weasley, Miss Granger."

Lockhart, one of the teachers that was with Dumbledore, stepped forward eagerly. "My office is nearest, Headmaster - just upstairs - please feel free -"

"Thank you, Gilderoy," Dumbledore said. Everybody cleared a path for Dumbledore, Filch, Lockhart, McGonagall, Snape, Harry, Ron, and Hermione.

I walked closer to Xenia and Aura, who were standing next to each other with Aura's arm around Xenia's shoulder.

"Wow," I said. "Um, I wonder how-how...how Mrs. Norris got petrified."

"Yeah," Xenia said. "And what's this Chamber of Secrets?"

"No idea," Morana said, peeking her head between Aura and me. "But I'd like to find out."

I sighed. I wish that I knew about this Chamber of Secrets.

And I wish that I didn't get a vision that night.

I went to the Hufflepuff common room, went into my pajamas, then went to bed. I was laying down, thinking about Mrs. Norris, when I started getting a massive headache. It was like a migraine, but worse. I closed my eyes tightly, trying to get rid of the pain. I put my hands against my head. I started getting images in my head. Morana collapsing on the ground. And two people being petrified like Mrs. Norris.

As soon as the visions stopped so did the pain. I opened my eyes, and I was fine.

'Wow,' I thought. 'Other visions.'

I then went to sleep, wondering when my vision would come true.
