"I. Can't. Find. Anything!" Xenia said to us before slamming her head onto the table. It was now Saturday, and Xenia had spent the last few days trying to read up anything she could on things that could petrify people and also be a snakey thingy.

"Well," Morana said, "maybe you need help. One Mudblood, or anyone really, trying to read all of these books might take a while."

Xenia sighed. She didn't like Morana calling her a Mudblood, but she occasionally let it slide because that's what Morana has grown up calling people. But that still doesn't excuse her rudeness, necessarily. I mean, she could learn to treat people nicer.

Morana wasn't the nicest person in the world, but I think she was kinda starting to grow on me. We could maybe even be friends one day, I think.

"Yeah, it might," Tess said. "I mean, how many books are in this library?"

Xenia opened her mouth to answer.

"Please don't say you actually counted."

Xenia closed her mouth. Tess raised an eyebrow at her.

"It was last year, okay?" Xenia asked, her cheeks reddening. "I didn't have any friends, so in my spare time I'd count the books. There are a lot."

"Mm hm," Tess said. "Which is why you need help."

"Yeah, but," I began, "how are we supposed to know what books to read?"

"Easy," Morana shrugged. "Look at the titles. If it seems like it might be about petrification and or snakes, read it."

"Okay," I said. "We should each check out a book, then go. The Quidditch match is today! Slytherin against Gryffindor."

"I bet Slytherin's gonna wi-in!" Morana said in a sing-song voice as she got a book.

"Ha ha!" I said. "Yeah, right! Draco couldn't even get the Snitch if he tried!"

"Then how is he on the team?" Morana asked. She stepped forward to me. "May the best crush win." She stuck her hand out.

"Hm," I said. I stuck my hand out, too, and shook hers. "See ya later, Morana. Hope your boyfriend looses."

"See ya, Aura. Hope your boyfriend doesn't have a freak accident." Morana walked away.

"Wait, you have a crush on Harry Potter?" Xenia asked me.

I blushed. "Ummm..." I grabbed a book of the bookshelf I thought might be useful. "I've, uh, I gotta go."

"YOU TOTALLY DO!" Tess yelled after me. Xenia laughed and I blushed even harder.

"Shut up!" I yelled back.

I walked away with my head down so I could check my book out.

I went to the Quidditch field later when Quidditch was gonna start soon. I went into the stands the wrong way, and ended up in the Ravenclaw section.

"Crap," I muttered to myself. I started walking through the Ravenclaws, trying to get to the other side.

"Excuse me," I was saying to the Ravenclaws. "Sorry. Pardon me. Coming through. I'm sorry. I need to get to the Gryffindor side." After pushing through a lot of people I stopped for a minute. I stood against the edge, and I leaned my elbows on it.

"Are you lost?" I head a young feminine voice say. I turned to my right, where I heard the voice, and saw a girl, maybe a year younger than me, with silvery grey eyes, and long dirty blonde hair.
