I didn't go home for Christmas that year. Or the year before that. The first two Christmases without my mom and my sister were awful. I can't even explain how awful they were. I was usually crying on Christmas instead of being cheery. When I found out I didn't have to go home for Christmas I wrote to my dad I wasn't going to have Christmas with him when I go to Hogwarts unless Mom and Mels are back from Azkaban.

Tess, Aura, and Xenia didn't go home either, and the reason I wanted to know why is so that we could hang out some more. It's not like a friendly hangout it's more like, 'let's-figure-out-what-is-killing-everyone,-who's-controlling-it,-and-why' sort of hangout.

Anyways, on the day that some people were leaving to go home I went to the library. I didn't see any students there. I went to the bookshelf that I was looking for and looked for the book I wanted to read. I then heard whispering from behind the shelf. I got the book I wanted, and went around to the other side. You'll never guess who I say! I saw Aura, Tess, and Xenia! Big shocker!

"I'm guessing I'm not invited into your little club," I told them. They jumped and looked at me.

"You," Aura pointed at me, "need to stop sneaking up on us."

"I," I pointed to myself, "do not care." I shook my head. "Now, what are you ladies talking about?"

"What do you think?" Tess asked me.

"Umm," I was thinking. "The Chamber of Secrets?" I looked at Xenia, who looked like she was going to cry any moment now. Xenia looked up at me and nodded.

"I'm worried," Xenia said. "Tess hasn't seen any visions with me being paralyzed or...or killed, but that doesn't mean it won't happen. We need to stop it."

"Didn't you hear Tess the night I found out I was ill?!" I kind of yelled at Xenia. I then brought my voice to a whisper, because I remembered we were in a library. "The basilisk won't be stopped anytime soon. Hermione and Penelope have to be petrified first, remember? Yes, it could get you. But it won't be stopped yet."

"How are you doing with that?" Aura asked me.

"Excuse me?" I turned to look at her.

"You said you were going to get information on the Heir of Slytherin," Aura answered. "Since you are the only one of us in Slytherin House we asked you to do it."

I sighed as I sat in an empty chair right next to them. I agreed to do this after Justin and Nick got petrified. Forgot to mention that.

"I asked almost everyone," I answered. "I asked them what they knew of the Chamber of Secrets and the Heir of Slytherin. I also asked them who they thought was the Heir of Slytherin. I asked for Professor Snape to give me something, but he said that it was illegal to use it on students without the Ministry's permission."

"And what were you trying to use?" Tess asked me.

I hesitated. "Veritaserum," I answered. "Truth potion. I asked him if I could use it so that whatever the person said was true. Professor Snape said no. I sent a letter to Cornelius Fudge, the Minister of Magic, if Hogwarts could use it to figure out who is petrifying Mrs. Norris, ghosts, and Mudbloods."

"Can you stop calling them Mudbloods?" Xenia whined.

"No. Anyway, Fudge sent me a letter back and said no, unfortunately. So I would have to believe them on what they said."

"Wait a minute," Tess interrupted. "What do you mean 'the basilisk won't be stopped anytime soon'?"

"Sorry?" I leaned in closer to Tess.

"That's what you said," Tess answered. "To Xenia. You said that the basilisk wouldn't be stopped. What basilisk?"

I breathed out slowly and leaned back. "I'm getting to that part. So I asked multiple people. They all said that they didn't know much about the Chamber of Secrets or the Heir of Slytherin. I asked one seventh year the same questions I asked everybody else, and she gave me amazing answers. They were so amazing that I wrote down her answers. And I have them with me."
