Seungcheol's POVMy mother was indeed shocked, but she took it well, I knew she would, but it was weird about the whole ordeal I guess, she always tends to look at the better side of things, she didn't like to mope, she didn't like to waste her time wallowing in bad memories and self-pity, maybe that's why. She told us Joo Min kept her hidden, locked her up, but he loved her too much to do anything bad to her. So, she was safe, unharmed, she lived a life hidden from everyone except Joo Min, she stood her ground and never tried to escape because if she did, the man would have come after me- killed me, just like he did to Vernon. No matter how much shit she had gone through, she still loved Joo Min, no matter what he'd done, eomma said that the mafia got to his head, she was blaming those people on why he was going crazy like the note said.
She wrote it in hopes to get it to me long ago, but it never did, she thought Joo Min was going to kill her, but he didn't. My brother died because he found out about our mother being locked up, he was trying to save her but he ended up getting caught. My grandfather and uncle were ordered to be killed so the man could be the next heir to the throne. God, more information to handle. "I'm sorry to down all these things on you guys", mom scratched her hair, "I rather it be that way instead of not knowing the truth, I just hope there's nothing more complicated than this, my brain can't take any more of this drama", I whined raking my hair back.
Suddenly I felt Jeonghan's hand gently grasping mine, he brought it towards him, caressing my knuckles that I just realized were blushing red, "does it hurt?", the angel asked, his tone and face so soft and sweet, making my heart flutter. I smiled at him, "just a little, but it's nothing big, babe", he scoffed playfully, but chuckled, "I hope they don't mind me touching their x-ray", I chuckled as well. Jeonghan pulled one of the machines closer to me, "well aren't you two cute", my mom commented as she giggled. I shook my head, but still smiled, doctor Han pressed a few buttons and the machine started scanning- jeez I don't know how those things work, I'm not the expert. After a few minutes, Jeonghan started scrolling through the attached computer next to it, the pictures and information being reflected through those cute, round glasses of his.
"Nothing's broken- ", Jeonghan started, "thank goodness", eomma sighed in relief, "looks like your husband took up the smart part in the relationship, I guess I won't need to worry all the time", my mom jokingly teased, I'm smart and she knows it! Just... sometimes I guess I can be- what the hell mom! I put on a hurt face as Jeonghan and my mom laughed together, "yaah! That's not funny!", I complained, waving my hands around. Jeonghan walked towards me, catching my flailing hand, "Cheol, stop moving it around", I let him grab my hand with his soft ones, his fingers touching and gliding as if they were pillows or something. "What'd ya see doc?", I asked, "nothing too serious, gladly. There's inflammation in the area, in other words, the joints in your knuckles are irritated. You don't need a cast, but I'll look for some bandages to wrap them up, just please don't move them so much and no more punching, got it?", doctor Han's serious side was making me wanna smirk or- but let's not go there.
"Understood, doctor Han", I teased as he just chuckled, walking to the other side of the room to find more bandages. "What in the world did you punch, Seungcheol?", my mom asked, holding up a skeptical expression, "Joo Min", I grumbled out, not wanting to talk about the man, but it seemed as if mom wanted to know more of what happened earlier. I sighed, but I guess it was my turn to spill things out, I explained to her about Joo Min breaking in and harassing Jeonghan, about him threatening us with a gun, how the police took him down and all. Still thinking back to what happened earlier, it got me boiling a little inside, it frustrated me how he touched Jeonghan like that, how he insulted him like that. I was upset at myself for not being there in time, but I didn't want to drown in that, I was just glad Han was safe and everything was over, hopefully.
Jeonghan came back with bandages and some ointment or whatever that is- like I said I'm not the professional. "Tell me if it hurts, okay?", I nodded as he rubbed the ointment on, it didn't hurt, so the angel continued, wrapping the bandages around my knuckles and my hand. "A week or two in those and you'll be good", I smiled pulling him in for a hug, he was surprised at first but chuckled and hugged back. "Yah, your mother's watching", Cheonsa whispered, I smirked, "no no keep going, oh and call me Seung Ji or better yet eomma!", I was going to say something until my mom beat me to it, I swear she was like a teenager sometimes.
We conversed a little more, this time talking about what was going on this past year with Jeonghan, Chan and I- how we met and all. Eomma was so intrigued, she couldn't get enough of it, Jeonghan giggled, getting along well with my mom- well his mom now too. I smiled once more, seeing the most amazing person I knew since birth, exchanging words, thoughts, feelings, with the amazing person I happened to cross paths with and would spend the rest of my life with. "I really wanna stay in this happy, positive bubble, so if there's still something that you guys haven't told me?", eomma mentioned as she waved her hands around, coaxing us to spit anything we haven't said. Her bubble wouldn't be bursting- well, thinking about some things, there was something she didn't know, but I had a feeling it'd just make her bubble way bigger, I spoke out.
"There is one more thing... we're actually not married- at least not yet"
"So, I didn't miss the wedding?"
"Not at all"
