Andy's pov.

After twenty minutes I got up to go check on Melody. I walked to the pool. At first I didn't see her and had a small heart attack, but then I saw her at the edge of the pool with her feet in the water, hiding behind a plant. She had something in her hands. I walked towards her and sat on the floor next to her.

Andy: what's wrong?

Melody: nothing.

Melody put what she had in her hands back in her bag. She then laid back on the floor and looked up. She was staring at the night sky. She began to cry.

Melody: I'm sorry.

Andy: why are you sorry?

Melody: you just adopted me and I'm already crying.

Andy: it's okay to cry as long as I or your mom know. You have been through much. The others don't know so I apologize for them. None of us know how to take care of a child either. Can I know why your crying?

Melody: what day is it?

Andy: it's June 22.

Melody covered her eyes and began to cry.

Melody: in two days my sister would have been turning 20 years old.

It hurt to just hear Melody say those words. It's been one year already since her sister died. Melody sat up and tried to stop crying. I hugged her and let her cry.

Andy: do you want me to take you to the room?

Melody nodded yes into my chest.

Andy: okay put your stuff away into your bag, I'm just going to tell them that I'll be back in a little while okay?

Melody: okay.

I walked and left Melody there putting everything back into her bag. I went back to the table.

Juliet: what happened?

Andy: she needs some alone time. I'm going to take her into the room. Can you fill the guys in; because they need to know. Once you're done I'll tell you later.

Juliet: okay.

Andy: sorry guys but I hope you understand.

I walked back to the pool area and Melody was there hugging her knees and crying. I went towards her. I picked her up like a toddler and wrapped her legs around my waist. I patted her head softly and she cried into my shoulder. As I walked by the dining table everyone looked at me odd and shocked. I kept walking. Once we arrived at the room I put Melody on the floor. I closed the door behind us.

Andy: do you want to talk about her?

Melody: yes, because she at least deserves it.

I grabbed Melody's hand and sat her on the bed closest to the window. I sat next to her, and wrapped my arm around her. I let her speak.

Melody: I'm sorry.

Andy: don't be.

Melody: meeting everyone reminds me of my sister. When I met some of her friends there would always be the one or two I know and the rest either heard of or clueless.

Andy: oh I'm sorry if I knew I wouldn't have done that.

Melody: it's not your fault. I miss her so much. Right now she would be telling me what she would be planning to do on her birthday. She would be bossing me around right now.
