••••••••••"Have you talked to Venus lately?" Diana had asked, making a left turn where she drove cautiously on the light snowy road.
"Why do you ask that?" April questioned turning her head to look at her.
"I was just wondering since you two are bestfriends," Diana shrugs.
"Were bestfriends," April corrected.
"Whatever," Diana rolled her eyes. "Have you at least called her? Sent her a text or even spoke to her in person? What if she misses y—,"
April cut her off right then and there, "I don't know why you're asking all these questions Diana. I'm not worried about her and you shouldn't be either."
"Stop trying to push this to the side. I'm being serious right now," Diana took a quick glance at April then back at the road again.
"Why are you even concerned in the first place, huh?" April shifted in her seat a little, turning towards Diana.
"Don't try to act like you weren't in love with her April. That shit is not gonna work with me," Diana bluntly stated, making another turn.
"I'm trying to forget but someone keeps bringing that shit up," April emphasized with the roll of her eyes. "I'm not tryna' talk about her. I dropped her and I'm not tied down to her anymore either."
"You need to stop being so damn heartless," Diana scolded.
"Me? How the fuck am I being heartless? She hurt my fucking feelings that day and—," April stopped herself mid sentence and chuckled. "You know what? You have no clue what you're trying to dig yourself into so you should just mind your own business and stop telling me what to do with my life."
Diana sighed deeply, "I'm not trying to tell you what to do April."
"Then what are you doing to do?" April asked with an irritated tone.
"I'm just suggesting that it would be good if you talked to Venus. See how she's doing and make sure she is okay at least," Diana implied.
"She should be doing that to me," April scoffed crossing her arms over her chest. "She's the one that created this mess."
The attitude April was having was trying to get on her nerves, "Still, I think—,"
"Yeah, whatever," April took her seatbelt off and opened the door once Diana stopped in front of her house.. "I'll see you around," she murmurs to Diana before she walked off.
April wondered if it was worth talking to Venus again, but she brushed those thoughts to the side. The moment she walked into her house she saw her family in the living room together. She kicked her boots off and took off her winter coat to hang it up on the rack. Then becoming more relaxed by the warmness of the house until her mother called her over.
"April, we need to talk," stated Mrs. Dean with a very serious tone that matched the look she had on her face.
"Sheema, go to your room please," ordered Mr. Dean in a gentle manner.
