Running Away

"Hey Harvey," John said. "The kid that was part of Dark Blood. His name is Soren ID: 503. The others that were with him are Aua ID: 464, Reland ID: 531, Lindsey ID: 117, and Sotaru ID: 014."

"So what's the information on them?"

"Soren's parents were both Level 9 and he was part infantry troops in Dark Blood. He just recently turned into a Level 8. He attends Crystal Tech Academy and he had the top grades in his class and arena training until recently where he got bested by Sotaru."

"Soruru?"

"No, So-ta-ru. He is an Experienced Level 6 Forger. Age: 15. He got kicked out of Oaken Shield for his disruptive behavior involving explosives. He had a twin brother named Fuyuki and he died at age 12. This person seems to be more suspicious. I will set up a security detail when he is in custody."

"And Aua?"

"Aua is an Experienced Level 7 Assassin and her squad, Serene Calm was ranked third in Oaken Shield. Her parents died at an early age.

"Reland is an Amateur Level 5 Mage and he is a citizen of Magicka. Reland has top grades in his class as well, but his arena training is his weak point.

"Lindsey....well, everyone knows who Lindsey is. Although she is high profile, we should probably take her in for questioning anyway. However there is this one girl that eyewitnesses keep describing, yet with their help, we still don't know who she is."

"Alright, take this information, debrief the assault teams and we'll move out in twenty minutes."

~With Soren~

"Hey, guys," Soren said. "Did you guys see a woman by any chance?"

"A woman?" Aua questioned.

"Yeah. There was this really creepy woman that tried to speak to me, but I couldn't register what she was saying."

"That's weird," Sakura said.

"And also the last thing she said before she disappeared was something about 'The Fallen'."

"The Fallen? What the heck?" Aua muttered. "Are you sure that the concussion you got earlier didn't also come with hallucinations?"

"I don't think so. I mean, I think I would know if I was hallucinating. And that woman I saw was not a hallucination. I think." Soren said.

"Well, it isn't really helping us find out who the hell attacked the guilds and all, so I don't think it would be useful information," Sakura said while shrugging. "And speaking of information, what do we actually know about the people that attacked the guilds? It's not like we've been performing an in-depth analysis on who they are or their attack methods or anything like that."

After several hours of silent walking, Sakura said that they should rest, since it was almost nighttime and they needed to rest in case they get attacked. Soren and the rest agreed, but as he was about to finish setting up his sleeping bag, Sotaru suddenly speaks, "Hey guys, do you hear something?"

"Hear what?" Reland asked.

"I just hear something," Sotaru said.

At first, the group thought it was just one of Sotaru's lies, but soon Aua claimed she heard something as well.

"Is that. . . a helicopter?" Aua pointed to the sky, showing that there was indeed a helicopter coming their way.

Soren looked closely at the vehicle, and then realized, "It's the police!"

"Well, we have to get out of here, obviously, we are wanted," Sakura replied.

"This is no time to be joking around, we are actually wanted and if we are arrested, who the hell knows what will happen to us!" Aua shouted.

"There's no time to talk, just get out of here!" Reland panicked and started to help everyone else run away, before following after them.

Soren managed a quick glance back at the helicopter, now having its searchlights directed on their position. A man leaned out of the window and carrying a megaphone. "This is the police! Get down on your knees and put your hands behind your head."

Of course, everyone ignored the warning and proceeded to escape. Soon enough, they heard the police cars coming. The assault team got out of the cars and began chasing them. Sotaru ran ahead of everyone else and began, quickly, placing his bombs. As soon as everyone passed the line of bombs, they all fired at once and the air was filled with thick smoke. Soren thought it was probably enough to somewhat shake the helicopter and the amount of smoke that had been released should've been able to reach where the helicopters were and block their vision.

"Hey, where's Sotaru?" Aua shouted over the noise.

"What?" Soren asked.

"He's not here! That idiot. He must've stayed behind!"

"We need to go back for him then!" Reland yelled.

"But if we do that, we're all going to get captured!" Sakura countered.

"I'll stay behind," Aua said.

"What?" Reland said in surprise.

"Someone needs to help him. And we need to stop the police from finding the rest of us. I'll stay behind and stall them."

"Then I'm staying behind too," Reland said.

"What? No!"

"I'm not leaving you behind. We're not leaving anyone behind."

"Then what's the point in stalling the police if you guys aren't going to get away?" Aua argued.

"Enough! We don't have time to argue! Either you stay or you leave. It's as simple as that," Sakura yelled.

"Then what about you guys?" Reland asked.

"We'll come back to get you guys out," she replied.

"Wait, but how?" He asked.

"Worry about it later!" Aua said. "Come on, we need to go!"

Reland agreed reluctantly and followed after Aua. Soren, Sakura, and Lindsey made their escape, however, Soren felt guilty for leaving his friends behind.

~Aua~

Aua ran into the thick smoke, to find Sotaru being taken away by the assault team.

Sotaru turned around, shocked, "What the- Aua? Reland? What are you guys doing here?"

"We're helping you, idiot."

"Oh, you guys care about me~?" Sotaru's eyes gleamed with happiness.

"How can you joke around during this time? And no, I just came to make sure you're not doing anything stupid."

The rest of the assault team, came at them with their weapons, ready to attack at any moment. Aua tensed and her heart started to pound loudly. She started to sweat and nearly got her weapon ready too when Reland stopped her.

"Stay focused. Remember, we're stalling." He whispered.

"Check the perimeter and see if you find the others. Remember, shoot if they try to fight back, but don't kill them. We need them back alive. And you two." The man said. "Go down on your knees and hands behind your head. If you want no harm done, I suggest you do as we say."

Reland nodded and did what the man said.

"What are you doing?" Aua said.

"There's nothing we can do. We're currently in a disadvantage."

Aua realized that Reland has a point. She, too, followed the man's orders.

"Take them away," the man ordered. He gestured to his comrades and they handcuffed them.

I hope the others escaped safely.
