"Josh," Tyler called out.
Josh turned around from his place in the garden, playing with bees and picking flowers boredly. He couldn't tell if this place wanted to kill them or not, apparently on Sunday's they allow for everyone to get 'fresh air' but can't step outside and it killed Josh. Seeing as he was an environmentalist he basically lived outside, but when he looked up all he saw was a white dome. They where trapped inside some greenhouse firmament where artificial lights acted as a false sun. He was sick of it here. But the people made it bearable.
"Yeah?" Josh replied, shifting over so there was more space on the ground beside him. Tyler took that as an opportunity to sit beside him, shiftting in his suit uncomfortably.
"Uh, about yesterday." He started, catching Josh's attention. "Did you really mean what you said?" The brunette asked. Hazel eyes shining with curiosity.
"What about?" Josh asked with a quirked eyebrow, but he had an idea of what Tyler was referring to.
"You care about me?"
Josh clenched his jaw, turning to look at Tyler's eyes.
"I mean I know we went soft for a moment, it was all intense and shit-"
"Yes."
Tyler studied Josh's neutral expression. No twitching, no distant eye glances, Josh was telling the truth.
"I do care about you, Tyler."
Tyler was confused, a feeling swirling in his stomach that didn't belong to the darkness that consumed his mind. It was lighter, and much more happier. "But why? Nobody cares about me."
"I do." Josh shruggs. "If it wasn't obvious already."
"What do you mean?"
"I don't usually wait 10 hours for a dead man to wake up." Josh stated, grinning as he saw Tyler giggle at the odd, but relatively true statement. "I usually don't wait at all."
Josh leaned back on his hands, legs crossed. "Plus, I may have burned the guards until Kavanaugh agreed to let me see you."
Tyler's eyes widened at Josh's casual statement.
"Oh don't look so shocked. I bet you would've done the same."
Tyler gave him a look, pursing his lips. Josh rolled his eyes as a soft laugh escaped the both of them.
"Hm, maybe." Tyler finally agreed, nudging his shoulder playfully against Josh's.
"You think he's scared of us?" Tyler asked. Watching the white suited man study the courtyard with an almost primal look.
Josh held a daisy between his fingertips, fire instantly confuming the plant as he muttered. "Definitely."
"I agree." Tyler leaned his head on Josh's. "You notice how the guards treat the Level One's, Two's and Three's," He gestured to the Purple, Blue and Green suited people. Kids playing with bubbles to teenagers mostly gossiping or showing scars that they fake the story of.
