Josh sat Jenna down on the table of a hidden room the mysterious man had led them to. Brendon was groaning somewhere on the floor, Evan sitting on the chair with distant trauma in his eyes.
Tyler stood by Josh. His suit now bloodied from both Jenna and Brendon. "Do you know this guy?" Tyler whispered to Josh. Josh shruggs, "kinda, saw him yesterday after what happened. He wanted to tell me about you, and told me to remember him."
"What's his name?" The taller brunette asked.
"Tomas Shelby." Josh supplied watching as the middleaged man positioned Jenna's head with a pillow.
Tyler watched with skeptical eyes as the man brought a pair of tweezers to Jenna's wound. Causing her to twist uncomfortably in her unconscious state.
Soon a sharp pointed bullet was removed from her stomach and placed in a small metal plate beside the table. He did it again, to another wound causing the same reaction.
Tyler saw the open chair squeak against the linoleum. Brendon must've found a seat.
Josh watched as Jenna's healing factor kicked in after the bullets where removed. Her eyes slowly blinked open but she still looked extremely tired. Evan smiled weakly at the Blonde girl who turned her head towards him, smiling at the sight of his warm brown eyes.
"I got scared I wouldn't see you again." Jenna said with a small smile.
"It's gonna be okay." Evan reassured, then suddenly interrupted by Brendon.
"Um, no. No everything is not going to be okay because im fucking dying over here while you two play Romeo and Juliet!" He exclaimed.
Tomas stared right at the spot where Brendon was ranting, studying the man and the way he was furrowing his eyebrows as if he could actually see him. He then looked over to Tyler as if hearing his thoughts.
"Brendon, I apologize." He says casually. Helping to get him from the chair and back onto table. The furniture shaking as Brendon shifted his weight.
"Wait can you-" Josh asked slowly, eyed glancing from Tomas to the table where he presumed Brendon to be.
"Yes, I can see him." He informed cooly. Tyler's red eyes widened. His abundance of confusion angering him and Josh placed his hand on Tyler's shoulder to keep his little firecracker from going off.
"If I can so politely ask," Tomas nodded for Tyler to continue as he addressed Brendons wounds.
"Who the actual fuck are you?"
Tomas' lip pouted as his eyebrows raised favorably. He expected something much harsher from the red eyed brunette. "I can ask you the same thing."
"I think you already know." Tyler challenged, placing his hands at his hips.
"So do you, your boyfriend just told you not even 5 minutes ago." Said Tomas, his face never leaving from it's neutral expression. He checked his watch.
Tyler's eyes glanced over to Josh's.
"Okay then." Tyler licked his lips, "why are you helping us?"
Tomas looked up at Tyler with hard, serious eyes.
"Tyler, I see bravery and courage in you. I see determination in your boyfriends eyes. I see a war, between good and bad but you have to pick your side. You don't have much time."
Tyler furrowed his eyebrows. His words where almost like the red eyed man in his head.
"What do you mean?" Josh asked hastily.
"That's for you all to decide." Tomas informed. "Your friend Patrick wasn't the only one to die like that, or to die in general."
"Wait, Patrick's dead!" Brendon exclaimed once again, but the majority of the room was focused on Tomas as he patched up Brendons final wound. Tyler nodded solemnly.
"You said Tyler would have to choose good or bad, but for what? For what war?"
Tomas sighed. "I can't tell you everything. All I can say is, your friend Tom, is where you start." He cleaned his hands with the handkerchief handing from his pocket. "And freedom is where you end."
Josh nodded at the mans words. Tyler seeming rather confused step back into Josh for some form of comfort.
"I'll take care of them." He gestured his thumb to the door. Glancing over to Tyler. "Can you make the demon go away please?"
"Oh, uh, yeah." Tyler stumbled over his words. He left the room to calm and dispose of the entity that continuously shredded the guards.
Tomas watched the door close, Evan talking quietly with Jenna and Brendon on the edge of falling asleep.
"Are you like Tom? Can you see the future?" Josh asked meekly, stuffing both his hands in his pockets.
"In some ways yes, others, no."
Josh clenched his jaw, suddenly finding the dark smudge on his boot more intresting.
"You love Tyler," The elder man said quietly to the shorter man. Josh looked up to find the man already staring at him with almost understanding realization. "You're in love with him." He was saying it more as a statement.
Josh scrunched his nose. "What? No! He's my friend. I care about all my friends." Josh defend while gesturing over to the others in the room.
Tomas grined, his grin forming to a smile before erupting into a deep chuckle. He shook his head. "You see Joshua, for me this is like watching a movie I've seen already many times before." He said, relighting a cigarette.
"You can deny your emotions now, but when they knock at your heart in desperate times, you answer it. Do you understand? You both balance each other." His cigarette hung from his fingertips.
Josh was tense, this guy read him like a book. He didn't shake his head. "No, I don't."
"You will." He nods his head. "You will."
Tyler opens the door. Josh's eyes scan the brunettes demenor seeing him exausted and slightly battered. Josh tried to ignore the knowing smirk Tomas played on his lips as he moved quickly over to Tyler, expecting his wounds.
"What happened?" He asked, cupping his jaw gently and moved his head up to expose his olive neck which held a nasty laceration.
"It was him." He said quietly. Josh already knowing who he was referring to. "Always elated to get out but never back in."
"Wait- that was him?" Josh narrowed his eyes. Tyler nodded. Josh noticed the tiredness in his eyes. Tyler swallowed his pride, wrapping his arms around Josh's torso and bringing him into an embrace. He found comfort in Josh, and Josh found the same in Tyler.
Jenna and the others tried not to dwell on the fact that Tyler was showing emotion. It was becoming a regular thing, and they didnt mind.
Tomas grinned at the sight of the two. He felt for them. "I'm sorry for having to break up the peace, but I need to find a way to clean up the mess before things get suspicious."
"What will Kavanaugh do if he sees me?" Evan asks, since the doctor was the one to order Evans taking.
"He'll presume that the experiment didn't work." Tomas replied before looking back at Tyler and Josh.
"There are more like Evan hidden around the facility. Find them and I'll cover for you, save as many you can. The more the merrier."
Josh nodded as Tomas disappeared behind the door. Josh looked over at Tyler. "Fuck." They sighed in unison.
The tense silence was broken by Brendons drowsy voice. "I need a drink."
