Selene and I walk through the tall marble-like town as the people slept in peace for there was no dealings and havoc like Bal'shamoth busy streets surrounded by the fiery lava and flames.
There was quiet peace that I was glad as I knew my people support the decision to run after my father allow the Bal'sharin Selene to the council as a truce advisor. A truce the people did not want after what happened to Queen Diana on my fifteenth birthday, a day I still regretted since then.
I thought of my mother and how people spoke with such kindness or praise, even the knights went to her asking advice about the ladies of the kingdom.
My mother even found a knight whom was trying to win my hand and be in good graces with my father, she had even suggested that he personally guard me on my fifthteenth birthday. My father was reluctant except he knew that whatever my mother was planning that there must of been good intentions that she trusted the young man who devoted his life in protecting the kingdom.
"Did you miss home at all Breenelle?" Selene asked quietly, trying to break the silence.
"I only missed home because of my mother." I snapped, as I avoided eye contact with Selene looking at the grave site.
I thought of the memories of the dreaded day the Jah'visha did on my birthday of all days. Softly I did not recognize my tears slipped from my face onto the worn, light cream bricks as my heart broke even more. Not only did I lose my mother, but the people who also lost daughters; sons; mothers; fathers; brothers; as well as sisters that had ran as the knights found the Jah'visha that did the crime.
The knight guarding me stood by my side as he escorted me to a secret hiding place his superiors ordered him to do. I was separated by father, mother, and my little sister, Catarina, who was just only fourteen at the time. I only knew I never got to say 'I love you' or a simple goodbye to my mother, instead her last words that escaped her lips were 'I'm proud of you, Breenelle'.
I looked at the majestic, white marble castle that looked a bit darker and worn-out as I continued with Selene leading to the bridge. The bridge seem to last a mile except when you could fly as a fairy or even an angel seemed like seconds.
"Salve, Bal'shiran Selene." The guard deeply spoke.
"Salve, Wy'mere. I have brought the princess home for her father." Selene replied.
"I'll let you in right away Bal'shiran, Mah'aron." the guard rushes his reply as he flies to the other side of the bridge.
Moments later the bridge was down as Selene and I walk down almost observing the ancients of Greece or possibly Romans with their aqueducts and unique work of art. Softly I then think of the art Reed had always made at home whether he used me or not, Reed always said I could go to college and even become a model if I wished. Except I didn't want to be known by the world or even socialicitate in a college that could be full of Bal'shamoths that could report to Selene and possibly take me from Reed.
"I guess the time has come." I whispered.
"Yes, your time to explain yourself has come Bree." A voice that held the hint of disappointment, but mostly a sadness of betrayal and hurt I once knew.
I turned to see the guard whom had protected me that eventful day, whom had stood by my side since I was sixteen even when he wanted to protest about the truce being made between the Underworld and Ebonmere. He knew his duty well, even if his heart's desires had to be put below the responsibilities he had towards the kingdom. I looked as my eyes blurred up, not of joy or even happiness but expressing sorrow I held deep below in staying in this mortal form.
