The thoughts of Emasux and Edith's Prophecy were the only thoughts to haunt my mind. Mostly how Emasux could think to preserve her own life just to pay with the sacrifice of her precious daughter and her vessel. In the end Emasux feared if she had her daughter, would she live past her birth?
Of course she would, if there's angel blood the mother would never be torn away from her gift of joy... right?
Wasn't until the knock at the door drew my eyes to glance and focus upon. The voices were distant, drying my throat to any response. Splinters flew everywhere before my attention focused upon the figure silhouette at the door. My vision began to blur before the darkness swallowed me whole, the sihouette holding my body close.I awoke to see those blue-grey hues stare down at my face, his soft pink lips curving into a hopeful smile. Except tears poured out, endlessly I laid there crying as Reed held me close whispering soft mummurs. If only Reed knew what had happened after that night, how much I thought of him that it almost killed me.
"Bree, what aren't you telling us?" Reed whispered after a while, "Is Bishop threatening you if you tell us?"
I shook my head and started hiccuping before seeing the paleness of my skin becoming white as snow. Focusing the last of my energy I watched as only sparks came to my hand, fading away as I tried forcing myself to glow. Wasn't until then I laid there helpless that I looked at Reed my lips quivering and vision bluring.
"I'm losing everything," I croaked, shakily breathing out the next words, "everything that made me who I am. I'm becoming a Jin' Ja'aron."
Reeds eyes widen and he asked slowly, "Please tell me you didn't try to commit suicide?"
I nodded my head shortly adding, "I should have died, but instead of dying I'm just living. Living with this pain that nobody has soothed like you did, living to do what's right instead of what I need."
Reed jerked his hand out of my hold while he muttered uncoherent things under his breath. He briskly left the room where another silhoutte stood before raising voices were shouting to one another. Crying I left to the window looking at the moon, holding my cross before silently singing:
Oh Mother pray, for the dawn will come
Oh Father stay, for the battle's begun
Sister of the moon and night ,
she will lead the fallen in the evening stars
Brother of the morning sky,
he will lead the rightious into the unknown wars
Oh Mother pray, for the dawn will come
His morning light will cast away the dark
His glory might will give a new dawn
The chant had brought an inner light with streaming water running past my cheeks and dripping past the stubbed chin.
Oh Father stay, for the battle's begun
Brothers fight amongst man~kind
For they have fought for everyone's soul
If you can, hear your people's cries
They cry to hear for the battle's end
Oh Mother pray, for the dawn will come
Oh Father stay, for the battle's begun
The creaking of a door opened and I still kept my chant at the moon in hopes. Hope for my mother's figure or a sign of something to guide me. The fading light of the moon stopped until there was nothing left except it's glimmering glow. Hands gently grip my shoulders before being placed in a warm embrace, looking to see Bishop except there were no more sparks.
"I'm nothing. I'm nothing but human..." I croak before crying into his warm embrace, letting the darkness consume the emptiness I now hold.
