He opened his eyes for the first time. He quickly scanned his surroundings, only spotting one life form. A humanoid man, who seemed to be a young adult.
"You're finally working." The man said. His voice was as youthful as his appearance. "I've been building you for a while. There's a large scale problem right now, and you are the only one who can fight it."
     "So, I'm a fighting machine?"
"Yes. The ultimate soldier. I've given you the name John Doe. It's simple, but you don't really need a name. I just wanted something to call you."
"Soldier... My mission is to eliminate targets, then?"
"Yes. There's been a recent outbreak throughout multiple dimensions. People have been gaining powers that allow them to create, and/or manipulate dimensions. We are in dimension number 0. Our mission is to observe other dimensions, making sure no inter-dimensional laws are broken. With the outbreak, laws are broken constantly, for evil purposes. Your task is to take out any who use their power for evil. Understand?"
"Understood. Do you have a name I can call you?"
"Just call me General. I'm going to tour you around the headquarters so you know who you're working with."
The General released John from his capsule, and led him into the main intelligence room.
"This is where we operate." The General explained. "This is our intel specialist, Zakreever."
"So you're the super soldier, huh?" Zakreever said. "I'm gonna be the guy buzzin' in your ear non-stop. You'll have to put up with it."
     "Understood." John replied.
The General pointed to the other side of the room. "Over there is the support specialist, Meezala. Her job is to make sure you stay alive in these missions. She'll also supply you with any needed weapons."
"It's good to have you around. You were John, right? That's what he called you?" Meezala asked.
     "Affirmative." John answered.
The General sat at his command chair. "This is where I work. Right by my wife, Valeesa."
"So you're my husband's soldier. It's nice to see you finally finished." She spoke with a cold, direct tone. "My job is similar to his, so I don't need to explain it."
"Right." The General said. "I'll be giving your orders. First, I'd like to put you through a test run. You won't have all your abilities yet, I wanna start small. Stand in the teleporter in the back."
"Yes sir." John did as commanded. He stood still in the teleporter, then was moved to a wide training room. He scanned the area. There were multiple threats throughout the room.
"Can you hear me, John?" The General asked.
     "Yes sir."
"Good. I left a pistol for you to use on a nearby table. Grab it."
John looked around, spotted the gun, and picked it up. The gun appeared to be a standard, modern handgun, but actually was very advanced. It never needs to reload, and fires incredibly powerful bullets. "Is this my weapon?"
"Yes. I'm going to put a spotlight on a wall, move to that and take cover."
John did as instructed, and took cover at the wall.
"Inside the building, you should see some enemies. How many do you see?"
John peeked inside. "There are three armed targets."
     "Good. Shoot them."
John leaned out of his cover, and quickly shot all three in the head. The targets vanished, as they were just a simulation, and John awaited his next order. Seeing John stand still upset the General.
"You need to move forward. You're going to have to do most things on your own, alright? It is important that you follow my orders, but you need to use your own judgement more often."
     "Understood. I'm moving ahead."
"Take out all the threats you see. Make sure all of them are taken down by the end of the course. I won't be giving many orders from here on. Make me proud."
"Will do, sir." John entered the building, checking every corner. He kept his gun in front of him, in case he saw someone. There was a staircase at the end of the room. He climbed up it quickly. He scanned around, but the upstairs room was small, and only led to a door. He hid at the wall by the door, then slowly opened it up. Immediately, guns started firing.
John didn't know how many there were, nor their locations. He chose to charge in, opening fire on the enemies. He shot down two, but then another one grabbed him. John grabbed the enemies arm, and easily tore it off. The enemy cried out in pain, and John punched his arm through the enemy's gut, then shot him in the head.
John saw a door at the end of this room. He leaned up against it, listening for enemies. He didn't hear anything, but he still was cautious. He opened the door slowly, and peeked through with his gun pointed. He eventually threw the door open, and properly aimed his gun. This area was a roof, outdoors. He slowly walked out, checking for any possible positions an attacker could be. The only thing he found was a ladder up.
While he climbed, the General spoke with him.
"The main target is on the roof. His attack power and defense is equal to yours, but you should be much more skilled than him. Be careful, regardless."
"Yes, sir."
John reached the top, and saw the target facing him. The target immediately pulled out a pistol and started firing. John dove to the side, and rolled behind waist-high cover. John shot at the target from the side, and hit a few shots on his upper leg. The target threw away his gun, and charged. He disarmed John, then released a flurry of punches.
John stomped on the target's foot, then rose his knee up to his gut. The target staggered back, and John attacked him with an uppercut, sending the target to the ground. John dashed over, and stabbed his knife into the target's neck.
"Target eliminated. Well done." The General reported. "The real thing will be different, but you should be fine. Just follow my orders, and also your instincts. Good luck."
"You made him?" Valeesa asked the General. "He's incredible."
"Yes. And you haven't seen half of what he can do. With his help, there will be order in this time of crisis."
