Kellin's p.o.v:

Admiring the students art neatly placed on the wall, I take a minute to relax before I have to be forced into my first class of the day.

It's music class so it shouldn't be too bad, I mean Alex's in the class after all and he seems pretty nice, but at the same time I've only talked to him for a few minutes before him and Jack quickly had to leave, so for all I know he could murder orphans in his spare time, but I'm willing to give the boy a shot.

"I see you've found the art!" Vic sounds from beside me, startling me a bit because I didn't know he was standing so close to me, let alone at all.

"Yeah, the art work was one of the very first things I noticed when I walked into this school for the first time. Nobody at my old school really had artistic talent so we didn't have any art up." I tell the shorter boy, continuing to direct my gaze at the many drawings and paintings.

"Which one's your favorite?"

I hum in thought, scanning over every piece of art work "I really like this one" I explain, pointing to a beautifully colored and detailed drawing of a Zombie holding bright, blooming flowers while everything else behind him rots.

A hum of interest comes from Vic at my answer. "And why is that?"

"I think the art is fantastic and the colors suit it so well, but my favorite part is the meaning behind it. Sometimes artists just draw things for no reason, but I like to believe this one does have a meaning."

"What meaning to you think it holds then pretty boy?" Vic asks with an eyebrow raised.

"That there's beauty in everything." I shrug. "That even if everything feels wrong and ugly, there's always at least one thing, one bright light in all darkness." I turn to look at him, my gaze dropping to the floor "I-it's stupid"

"No, no it's not stupid! I like your idea Quinn, it's pretty spot on if you ask me."

"Well, I guess only the artist will know the true answer." I chuckle awkwardly.

"HEY DUMBASS! HE'S THE ONE WHO DREW IT!" Mike yells through cupped hands from across the hall, standing beside a laughing Tony.

"What?! You drew that?"

"About half way through last year, yeah." He answers casually.

"And you didn't tell me and just let me embarrass myself?!"

He shrugs with a smirk. "Thought it would be more fun that way."

"You fucking dick!" I raise my voice slightly, hitting him in the chest playfully. "I basically just told the artist the meaning behind his own drawing, do you know how embarrassing that is?"

"I thought it was cute."

"I'm sure it won't be cute when I shove my foot up your ass!" I announce jokingly.

"Is that a threat or a promise? Because jokes on you, I happen to like having things up my ass!"

I blink at him, too stunned to try and think of what to say to that. It's kind of hard to respond when something like that is said, I mean I could say "hey me too wanna try it together?" but I'd rather not say that at this point of time.

"I don't know how to respond to that, so I'm just gonna leave." I state simply, pointing behind me with my thumb.

He laughs at that. "Alright, I'll see you at lunch."

Walking into music class I look around the fairly sized room for Alex, I figure that he's the only person I really know in this class so I might as well befriend him, not to mention I should probably get to know him before we hang out this weekend for movie night.
