The Final Chapter

Terror

*John POV*

Mycroft dropped us off about an hour ago, telling me to call if we need anything. Sherlock has been throwing up again, we had to stop a few times on the way over.

"John?"

"I'm right here, relax."

"Help...help me up?"

I pull him up slowly, helping him back to the toilet. He is shaking again, worse than before.

"What's wrong?"

"I...I'm scared."

"You need to calm down, you're literally making yourself sick. Breathe. Please?"

He nods, tipping his head back and inhaling deeply.

"Are you okay?"

"No."

"What do you need me to do?"

"Don't...go."

"I'm not leaving, I promise. Do you need to go lie back down?"

"No."

He throws up again, groaning in pain.

"Let me see."

"Its...fine."

I pull his shirt up, checking to make sure the stitches are all still in place.

"Its okay. Come lie down, I don't want you blacking out in here again."

"Again?"

"Like yesterday."

"I won't. I'm...fine."

He starts coughing again, clutching his side.

"Come on, you need to lie down."

"Fine."

I pull him up gently, helping him back to the bed. He lets me wrap him up in a blanket, shivering violently.

"John..."

"What's wrong?"

"I'm cold."

"Do you want me to lie with you?"

He shakes his head, mumbling softly. Whatever he said is muffled by the blanket, making me lean closer.

"What do you need?"

"I'm cold."

"I know. I'm going to go grab you some more blankets, stay here."

"No. I'm fine...dont go."

"Calm down, you need to lie back."

"Dont go. Please John."

He rolls onto his side, pushing himself up suddenly.

"Lie back down."

"Need to...again."

"Come on."

I help him sit up, handing him a bowl.

"Thanks."

"Are you good to lie back down?"

"Not yet."

"Relax, try to calm down. You can't keep making yourself sick like this. Nothing is going to happen, not today. Alright? I'm right here, and he's gone Sherlock. He's gone."

Sherlock nods weakly, reaching out to grab my hand.

"How's your side?"

"Its not...I didn't pop...the stitches...yet?"
