DISCLAIMER: I OWN NOTHING
FAITH POV
"My second year of high school?!" I ask in shock.
"Faith. This is your best shot at a good life," My mother says as she grabs my hand.
"O-ok,"i stutter, i take a moment to process. I will be with people twice my age, crammed into an environment of people twice my age....I can handle that...yeah! I can! I've been in a shooting, I've been homeless, i Can survive fifteen year old teens....yeah! I can! And i will!
"There's a party today, it will be here, it's a business party....and it's really important, but if you don't want to be there, you don't have to," Dad says.
"Ok, i have to start getting used to people anyways..." I mumble.
"It starts at six, the maids have been preparing since yesterday, they need you in your room at twelve," My dad says. I nod in understanding and start eating breakfast. The door bell rings and my dad gets up to go answer it.JACE POV
I open the door and see a camera in my face. "Jace Herondale!" I hear Natalie say. She's a host from a celebrity news tv show.
"Natalie, what are you doing here?" I ask.
"We asked your secretary to give us an appointment to interview you at your house," Natalie says.
"Which secretary?" I ask, because Clary wouldn't do that.
"Dana Riverton," I roll my eyes and look into the camera.
"For any newscaster that wants to interview me, don't set up an interview with Dana, she's been fired since December," I say. I sigh and look at Natalie. "You have until twelve,"
"That's more than enough time," Natalie says with a smile. I sigh and sit down on the couch. "Oh no....we want Faith and you," Natalie says.
"I don't know if that's a good idea," I don't want to exploit Faith to Hollywood. I love her, which is why she can't be pushed into Hollywood. The door to the kitchen opens, showing Faith in her pajamas. Her blonde hair hid her face. She looked so adorable. She reminded me of Clary when she would come out of Izzy's room in a dress, she looked so shy, which was unnecessary because she was gorgeous. I smile at Faith, she then comes running up to me. She sits down on the couch and lays her head on my chest.
"Faith! Oh my goodness! This is amazing! You two look so cute together!" Natalie says. "Ok, so Faith, how old are you exactly?" Natalie asks.
"I'm eight, I turned eight on June twenty fourth," Faith says. My heart squeezes. I didn't know that, June twenty fourth, we didn't do anything, Faith just went with the therapist and the tutor.
"That's amazing! So Jace, how have you been adjusting to living with your daughter?" Natalie asks.
"It hasn't been the easiest, especially with the things that have been happening while we adjusted, but it's been the best adjustment I've ever had....having Faith in my life.....I can't think of anything better than having her in my life....I love her so much..." I say as I look at her. She smiles at me and buries her face into my chest.
"Faith, do you ever fight with your parents, do you get along with your dad? Give me the drama," Natalie says with a laugh. Faith backs out of my chest and looks at Natalie.
"I actually don't know why you want to interview us, I don't have drama with my parents, there is no entertainment in the relationship with my mother or my father. You can look all you want, but it's not there," Faith says. Natalie asks a few more stupid questions. She eventually leaves. When the door closes Faith groans and falls onto my lap. "She took forever!" Faith says in annoyance. I smile at her annoyed face.
"Interview's suck," I say with a grin. Faith nods in agreement. "But you know what sucks more?" I ask. Faith looks up at me curiously.
"What?" She asks.
"This!" I say and start tickling her. She starts to squirm and giggle loudly.
"Noooooooooo!" Faith says and keeps giggling and squirming. I smile at her and how she's smiling. Her smile was amazing, beautiful, like Clary's, and had a certain charm like mine. That smile could trick anyone into doing anything. "Stoppppp, please," she gasps out as she keeps giggling. I grin and stop tickling her. She starts panting as she gets up from my lap. I grab her and pull her back into my lap.
"I love you Faith....you do know that right?" I ask. Faith smiles brightly and hugs me tightly.
"I love you too," she whispers. Rosemary comes down the stairs.
"It's time, sir," She says. I nod and let go of Faith. She kisses my cheek and runs up the stairs to her room to get ready. I sigh and go to my office. Clary also had to go get ready. I had some time to spare though, so I kept doing work.FAITH POV
I was pushed into the tub again, and I was rubbed roughly, everywhere. All the maids were there except Oliver. It was like a complicated surgery. Two were washing my hair, and seven were washing my body. It took so long I almost fell asleep. They then passed me to other maids. They dried my body roughly and turned on the hair drier. That also took a long time. Then they brushed my hair. They brushed it until you could grab each strand of hair. By this time I didn't even know what time it was. Then they put my underwear on, it was light pink. They grab a dress and put it on me gently. They put it on me and then slide in my silver shoes. They curl my hair with the curling iron, the fumes made me nauseous and dizzy. Then they turned me around and I looked into the mirror.I had a light pink dress with my blonde hair curled perfectly and my silver shoes added to the color of the dress.
