DISCLAIMER: I OWN NOTHING

JACE POV

"Jace!" Someone says snapping me out of my thoughts. I look towards the voice and see my mother. I haven't told her about faith... I just didn't have time... I wanted mom to meet Faith in a special way, not through the phone! I feel something poke my side. I look down and see Oliver.

"Faith had to go to sleep, she was falling asleep on the couch," Oliver says.

"Alright...make sure she's ok..." I tell Oliver, some parents wouldn't like boys checking on their daughters, but Oliver is a son to me, he's basically Faith's brother.

"Jonathan," I hear my mother say. She's the only one I let call me Jonathan, even though that's not my legal name...at least not anymore...

"Mom...what are you doing here?" I ask.

"Can't a mother come to visit her son?" My mother asks. her white blonde hair was in a bun, she was fifty years old, but she looked forty, "Plus, we didn't celebrate your birthday this year... I haven't seen you since last year actually!" My mother says annoyed. "You're twenty-six Jace, you're responsible to talk to me and not make me feel lonely!" My mother says, slightly joking. she then sighs and looks off into space. "You know Jace, there are a lot of ways I envisioned you telling me that you have a daughter, but not telling me and letting me find out through the news was not one of them!" she says. I let out a breath.

"Mom...I'm Sorry...I've just been so busy and..."

"Yeah, Yeah, I get it Jace... can you at least tell me who it is? the woman that gave birth to your child? And what kind of name is Faith? Don't get me wrong, it's unique...but Faith? That's an odd name to choose," My mom says. "Is she sleeping in her crib or is a babysitter looking after her? And who's the woman who is the mother of your child, you are going to marry her right?" She thinks Faith is a baby...Shit. The bathroom door opens, my mother looks towards the bathroom and gasps. "Jonathan Christopher Herondale! You did not! My goodness! You had a baby with your ex-girlfriend?! Jonathan! Why would you do this?!" My mom asks. People started leaving, waving goodbye from behind my mother. it was 8:00 the party was from 6:00 to 8:00.

"Mom...The thing is..."

"How could you stoop that low Jace?!" My mom asks. "There's no excuse! Jonathan!"

"She's eight!" I finally tell my mother.

"What?" She asks in pure confusion.

"Faith is eight years old... not a few months old, Clary broke up with me to hide her, so that I could do...this," I tell my mother, by now everyone left. Clary stayed across the room.

FAITH POV

The door opens revealing Oliver. he comes in with a tray o food. he puts it on a glass table I have. he grabs the beanbags I have and waves me over. I get up and sit down. The platter was filled with desserts f rom the dessert table. "Party's over...i thought you might want some of this...I'm not sure if you ate anything," Oliver says. I smile at him.

"I did eat... but, i'm hungry anyways" I say and grab a cupcake from the tray. He sighs and grabs a cupcake and looks up at me.

"Faith....I know you're scared...but i think you should talk about what just happened," Oliver says. i sigh and look up at him.

"Oliver...I'm Fine...i've dealt through worse,"

"Then tell me whats worse than what just happened....Faith..." Oliver pleads.

"Oliver, i don't wat to talk about it!" I say annoyed.

"Fine...i'll just go tell your parents then," Oliver says.

"No! Y-You can't do that!" Oliver leans into his bean bag and sighs.

"Then tell me what's worse than what happened tonight?"

OLIVER POV

Faith sighs as she stares at her cupcake, avoiding to look at me. she had her blonde hair in pigtails, she had shorts and a t-shirt on, her tan legs and arms were exposed.her hair shadowed her face, the white light shinning on her. The room was quiet. The atmosphere had changed, everything seemed so much darker, sadder, the tension was dark, sadder. It was as if a whole different person was replaced from Faith. Faith looked up. Her face was white, her eyes coated with tears. "You have to promise me.." She says and grasps my arm tightly."You...You Can't tell anyone...ever...whatever i tell you now...you take to your grave!"Faith says. "A....And you can't treat me different...you can't...leave me...I can't deal with that," faith whispers.

"Ok....Ok" I whisper, trying to calm her down. she looks up at me.

"Promise me! You Have to promise me you won't tell anyone! you won't leave me!" She begs.

"I promise, I won't leave you.....and i won't tell anyone..." I whisper.

"Ok..." She says staring at the wall behind me. Tears fall down her tan face. she gets up and walks to her bedside table. she grabs a necklaceand a piece of paper. she gets rid of the rubber bands in her hair and walks over to me, her blonde hair cascading over her shoulders. She sits down and looks into my eyes. "It's a long story... we can't go to sleep in the middle of it because of the time...and we have to do it now...because there is a high chance i won't be able to tell you this ever again..." Faith whispers. Rosemary will kill me if i'm not in bed in an hour, but i can't have Faith loose her courage and not tell me what has happened before....this isn't for me...this is for her...she needs someone to understand her...to know what she's gone through, to help her through her pain, and her flash backs, and her panic attacks. i know for a fact she could never tell Jace. If it's worse than attemptive rape, then she won't be able to tell him, she's insecure, she's never had a father, if i suddenly had parents, i wouldn't tell him of things that are bad, that happened to me. i wouldn't want them to stop loving me. Then again, how could you not love Faith....no matter how bad the things were, Jace could never stop loving her. Clary went through these things with her, but something tells me that even she doesn't know the full story.
