A/N: I'm so sorry for not updating sooner. I had writers block and I didn't know where to go from the last chapter.
Lapis POV
I watched as Peridot's mom entered the house, a look of pure hatred spread across her face. "PERIDOT?!" She practically screeched. "What is THIS?! A LAZULI?! You are in more trouble than you can imagine, missy!!" Then she turned to me. "And you!" She spat. "Get out and never return!"
Before I could even process what my body was doing, I jumped up from the couch, startling Peridot. Using all of my force I shoves Mrs. Green to the ground, her taking her husband with her. Then I ran out the door, ignoring Peridot's cries for me to come back.
I ran down to the park about a block away. I didn't know what else to do. I couldn't go back to my dad, and he probably wouldn't want me anyway, and I obviously wasn't welcome at Peridot's. My head started spinning. I had no safe spot. No place to call home anymore. Tears started flowing out of my eyes. It was like a waterfall. I was crying so hard that I didn't even see Peridot as she ran over to me and rapped her arms around my waist, crying with me, but not as hard.
Peridot's POV
Lapis and I just stayed cuddling together for what felt like a life time, my short arms not even making it all the way around her waist, but I didn't care. I had Lapis. I had all that I needed, right here.
Then I remembered the small purse slung across my body. Before I flew out the door to find Lapis, I grabbed it from around my mom, knowing she had lots of cash in it from when she went gambling last night. (A/N: I don't know I'm tired. Lets just say she gambles!😉)
I quickly let go of Lapis, which made her turn to me on the bench we were sitting on. I took off the purse and she looked at me curiously. I unzipped the top and dug through all of the trash and receipts until I found her wallet. I quickly opened it. My mouth opened in shock, and now Lapis raised her eye brows, hope spread across her face. I turned to her to show her what was in the wallet, and soon she had the same face I wore.
Inside the wallet was $947 in cash! Wow mom is a good gambler! I thought, still astonished. I quickly wiped away the rest of Lazuli's tears and grabbed her hand, jumping up from the bench and darting down the street.
"Where the hell are we going?!" She asked, a small smile creeping up on her face. I threw her a cheeky grin and kept walking, earning a deep blush from her. I just chuckled.
Soon we reached our destination. In front of us stood the Keystone motel. One of the best motels in the area. On the walk over I sneakily payed online for a room, so we just grabbed our room key and headed inside.
In a small room but it would do until we got everything sorted out with our parents. There was only one bed with striped covers. On the other side of the room was a small table to eat at, and a bathroom. The room was small but it would work, considering that there's only two of us.
I plopped down on the bed and got out my phone, ordering some pizza for dinner. After I finished the call, Lapis sat down next to me and pulled my into her arms, laying back. I put my stubby little arms around her waist again, and we just stayed like that until the pizza came.
Lapis got up and answered the door, me close behind. The guy had a short scruffy beard and a baseball cap, looking to be in his mid twenties. He looked at me and Lapis and saw that we were holding hands. I noticed this and let go of her. She glanced over at me but shrugged it off.
He pulled a face. "Where are your boyfriends, ladies?" He snarled.
I stepped in front of Lapis as she stepped back, making room for me. She knew I was pissed off. "Actually," I snarled back. "We're girlfriends," The man looked at me, pure rage and disgust on his face. I quickly snatched the pizza from him. "Piss off!" I yelled, and slammed the door in his face.
As I turned around Lapis just stared at me, stars in her eyes. "Uh... Lazuli? You okay?" I asked, a slight blush on my face.
"Y-you... he.. boy-boyfriend...?" She stuttered, amazed. My blush deepened as I walked over to the small table and set down the pizza, pulling out Lapis' chair and sitting down in my own. She took a seat, still flabbergasted over my freak out.
After a minute of eating in silence, Lapis finally gained the ability to speak again. "I can't believe you stood up for us like that," She said, making my blush return.
"Why wouldn't I?" I asked. "He was just a big ass!"
She snickered. "Yeah, a big homophobic ass!" By now we were both laughing. I hadn't felt this good in a long time. Right now I just had to worry about me and Lapis. Nothing else.
We finished up eating and sat down on the bed and looked for something to watched. After browsing the channels for a little while we finally found an episode of Camp Pining Hearts. It was season five but it would have to do. Lapis pulled close to her chest. I layer my head there and we just snuggled for a few episodes, until I fell asleep.
