Peridot's POV

After Mr. Lazuli had taken me over to my house and my parents answered the door, I had been yelled at nonstop. They, of course, grounded me. I wasn't to leave my room unless to eat, use the restroom, or to do small chores for them, like take out the garbage or go get something from the supermarket. And even worse, they took my phone, DS, tablet, PS4, and even my small radio that I kept on my dresser. When I had asked them what the hell I could do, they told me to read a book or do homework.

I'm now sat in my room, drawing a creature that looks half like a centipede, half like a monster. I'm calling it a Centipedele. I know. Terrible name. You try and think of a better one when your literally bored out of your making and are stuck in your room since yesterday. Huh I sighed to myself. This is going to be a long weekend.

Time Skip

"PERIDOT!" I was woken up from my afternoon nap by my very angry mom. I sighed and walked downstairs.

"Yes, mother?" I asked calmly, not wanting anymore trouble.

"Go to the supermarket and get me some milk, pasta, and cheese. I've decided to make mac and cheese for dinner," She said. I started heading out the door but she stopped me. "If your not back in twenty minutes, your grounded for an extra week," She said coldly. I just nodded.

"Y-yes, mother," I stuttered. With that she let me go, and I made my way down the quickest way possible to the store, shuddering and cursing myself for not bringing a jacket.

Lapis' POV

I stepped down the isle arm in arm with my dad as the music slowly played, a tight knot twisting up in my stomach. I was looking at the ground the whole way up to the alter. I just couldn't bring myself to look at my soon to be husband, Kevin.

After what felt like a lifetime, we arrived at the alter where the priest and Kevin were waiting for me. My dad unhooked my arm from his, and walked off to the side. I then finally looked up. Kevin was grinning ear to ear. Of course he wanted to marry me, no one ever wants to stay with him. I shuddered.

The priest then began to ramble on and on and the whole time all I could think was I'm marrying Kevin. I'm marrying Kevin! I'm marrying KEVIN!!
Then I heard the priest say "Kevin, do you take Lapis to be your lawfully wedded wife, to have and to hold, through sickness and health?"

His answer made my stomach knot up even tighter. "I do," The priest then turned to me.

"Lapis," He said, making me begin to shake slightly. "Do you take Kevin to be your lawfully wedded husband, to have and to hold, through sickness and health?"

I couldn't move. I could barely breath. I was frozen. I didn't want this. Nobody should want this. It's so wrong! I began shaking violently, and my teeth started chattering. "Lapis...?" My dad whispered, and I snapped back to reality.

"NO!" I screamed. "No...," I said again, almost inaudible. Then I turned and ran. I heard my dad and the priest and Kevin all keep calling me to come back, but I just kept running. I ran clear across the field and into the tree line boarding it. I didn't stop until I couldn't see the field through the thick forest trees, and decided to take a rest.

I sat down on a nearby tree trunk that had fallen down, probably from a thunderstorm of some sort. I sighed and started crying for the millionth time this week. I missed Peridot so much, even if I had just seen her. No one knew where I was. I was truly alone.... for about 5 minuets.

I heard my dad yelling "LAPIS?!" Over and over again, getting closer each time. Damnit! I thought, and took off again.

As I was running away, I came across the old abounded road that hardly anyone used anymore. It leased into town, leading strait up to a small super market. I knew all this because this was the fastest route to town from my house. I thought about taking it back to Peridot's house so I could see her again, but decided against it as it would be very predictable, and I would just lead the wedding party to her.

I ran straight across, despite the fact that I couldn't even hear my dad anymore, not looking both ways because I knew it was abounded and had no one driving on it. But as I ran across, I heard the sound of tires and a horn honking at me, and I stopped and looked over to the sound just in time to see a car speeding straight towards me. I felt a sharp pain as it hit me and heard a lot of cracks, then as quickly as it happened, everything faded to black.

A/N: Sorry it's pretty short. 😐 On another note: THERE'S ONLY ONE MORE CHAPTER LEFT OF THIS BOOK! I'm not sure if I'm happy or sad about this. Anyway, I'll update the finale chapter next weekend. Until then, see ya!
