Lapis POV
Silent tears rolled down my cheeks as I watched my dad take Peridot by the ear and drag her away. And of course, to make matters worse, he locked my door again too, and pushed my bookshelf in front of the window since it was open, but that didn't really matter anyway. I couldn't even fit through.
I lied down on my bed and dropped my head into the pillow. I screamed. And screamed. And screamed. I was so upset. I lost her again, just when I got her back! And now I was getting married to Kevin.
I continued to scream until my body felt weak and helpless, and I drifted off into to a sad, dreamless sleep.
Time Skip
I woke up to a dark room, though I could hear birds chirping outside. The bookshelf must be blocking the daylight from coming into my room from the window. I though, as I could see a little bit of light creeping through around the edge of the bookcase. I got up and turned on my lamp.
All of a sudden the memories of last night and the rest of the day prior rushed into my head all at once. But one of them stuck with me more. I'm getting married today. I felt a shiver run down my spine. I looked over at my baby blue wedding dress in the closet and sighed. Lets get this over with... I thought, and as if on cue, my dad entered my room and closed the door behind him.
"Nervous for the big day?" He sounded a little happier than usual. Probably 'cause he got rid of Peridot.
"You could say that," I mumbled, but he must have heard me.
"It's okay to be nervous, sweetheart. I was nervous on my wedding day," He said. "But you shouldn't be. It's marriage! It's a beautiful thing! You should be happy!" I got very angry.
"Why would I be happy?" I said in a surprisingly calm, but cold, tone. "I didn't get a say in this. I'd rather be marrying Peridot," Another tear rolled down my cheek at the thought of my gorgeous girlfriend.
My dad sighed. "You haven't even known Peridot for a week, Lapis,"
"I haven't even know Keven for a day! Besides, I'm gay!" I raised my voice a little. I was starting to get really angry.
My dad looked mad now. He stood up. "You're getting married today, and that is final," He said bitterly. "I'll grab your dress, and you change into something else. We're leaving right after breakfast to get your hair and makeup done," And with that he grabbed my dress and left.
I huffed, but did as I was told. I slipped out of the clothes I slept in, and put on a blue crop top with thick, black straps, and some black ripped jeans.
I then walked out my door, and down the hallway to the kitchen. I saw a look of disapproval on my dad's face as he eyed my clothes. "You didn't tell me what to wear," I growled. He said nothing and handed my a plate of eggs and toast, identical to his, and we ate in silence.
When I was done with my breakfast, I got up and placed my plate into the sink, and my dad followed suit.
"Let's go," He said, walking out the door to his car as I followed. He put my dress in the back, and I climbed in up front, and he drove off. We soon soon reached a small building with a sign on the front reading "The Crystal Gem Beauty Parlor" in fancy cursive blue letters. It was a strange name, but I shrugged the off.
We parked the car and walked in to the building. We walked up to the front desk. A small girl in a big beautiful blue dress with long, light blue hair covering her eyes and almost going down to knees greeted us. "I'm Sapphire," She said. "You are Lapis, correct?" I silently nodded. "Follow me," She said as she headed off into the beauty parlor, me and my dad followed close behind.
