"Oi! Nekobaka get up!" Sasuke shouted, seeing Koneko unable to hold herself up. Her body was unmoving, but he didn't want to presume the worst.
Obito let out a low chuckle, "She's dead."
Naruto shook his head, completely in denial. Even Kurama told him the same, but she couldn't be dead. She just couldn't. It was too soon...
Sasuke's usually stoic face broke as panic slowly arose, "Nekobaka, wake up!" He said, trying to shake her awake. When she didn't respond, he clicked his teeth and got up to glare at Obito.
"This is the sick reality that made me who I am." Obito said, now pointing at the duo.
"You'll be joining her shortly."
.......
Koneko weakly woke up, seeing as she was in Hironori's space again. Looking around, she spots the god and walks up to him, "I'm sorry." she mumbles, sitting behind him as her head was bowed down, "I just couldn't..."
"Arise, child." Hironori ordered, lifting her face to stare at him, "You what you could have with what I gave you."
She clenched her fists, "Why would you put up so many limitations?" She asked, slightly angered that she was meant to gain that much power with so little help.
"I trust you, Kyoko." He began, tapping the water to reveal each of her forms staring back at her, "You don't trust yourself."
Both of them sat in silence as he said those words. She didn't trust herself? What did he mean...
"I want you to meet someone." Hironori suddenly brought up, gesturing to the figure who appeared next to him, "This is my son. Hagoromo. The Sage of Six Paths."
Koneko bowed her head further, "I've heard a lot about you from Kurama and the other tailed beasts." she puts on a small smile, "It's extremely nice to meet you."
"You were correct father, she does hold immense potential." he closed his eyes to think for a moment, "Just as much as Indra and Ashura's reincarnations."
"Thank you, but I don't deserve praise." She looked down at her body, feeling as everything felt extremely surreal, "I mean... I died."
"You haven't died completely. Your soul hasn't passed on into the after life." He looks away, admiring the view of his world again, "Once you've fully given up on yourself, that's when you will pass on. However, neither I or you have given up yet."
An image of Sasuke and Naruto flashed in her mind as she thought on why she hasn't given up. They were both precious to her, but one more than the other. Then, she remembers Itachi's words and sighs, "There's a world that needs to be saved..." she muttered, dazed at the feeling, "I'm sure they can handle themselves... without me." Her body became a bit more translucent.
A ripple of water appeared in front of her and there showed Sasuke and Naruto struggling against Obito. She noticed the look of Sasuke's face as he continued to glance at her body. His eyes were dilating as panic continued to arise and Naruto was only in complete denial.
Both of them were.
"They can hold him off for only a short amount of time, however they're slowly running out of chakra and energy..." Hironori commented, leaning on his hand as Koneko observed the fight in the water.
Her fists clenched, feeling extremely powerless in this situation, "Is there a way I can give up the rest of the energy and chakra?" She asked, shocking Hironori and Hagoromo, "If there's a way I can help... I'd gladly sacrifice the rest of my life force even if it means I die."
