I can't help but worry about her; she's gone through so much today. She just shut down after we ate. I gave Brian the other bed so I can be closer to her in case she needs me. "No! No please don't hurt me!" snapping my eyes open, the room is dark, I thought I was just hearing things. "No get away from me. Leave me alone." Moving over to the bed, Elizabeth is thrashing around the bed. "Beth! Beth come on, wake up your having a nightmare." Brian came into the room.

"What's going on?" "She's having a nightmare. I'm trying to wake her up. Go back to bed. I can handle this." He nodded. "Call if you need me." I nodded as he closed the door. I lightly started shaking her, trying to wake her. "Come on Ell come back." She stopped thrashing, opening her eyes. "Thank god! Are you okay?" she nodded. "You were screaming and thrashing in your sleep." "I don't remember any of it." "It's okay. You don't need to. Just go back to sleep." She nodded, lying back against the bed. I started to move away, she grabbed my hand. "No stay with me. Please stay with me. I don't want to be alone right now." Looking at her I can see the terror in her eyes, she doesn't want to be alone right now. "Okay. I won't leave." Lying next to her. Staying still waiting for her fall back to sleep; still holding onto my hand for dear life; it's almost like she's terrified that I'll vanish if she let's go. "Don't worry baby, I'm not leaving you. Go back to sleep. I'll be right here."

I laid there next to her, until she's fast asleep. Just as I started to move she cuddled closer to me; entwining her legs with mine, trapping me there. Sighing I pulled her closer, wrapping an arm around her. "Sweet dreams my love." I whispered lightly kissing her head. Closing my eyes, I tapped into Brian's mind, seeing if he's still awake.

"What's up man?"

He asked, I can hear the sleep even in his mind.

"Is she doing okay?" "Yeah. She seems better. She was so scared; even when she woke up, it was like she didn't know who I am, or where she is. It scared the shit out of me!"

"You two are definitely mates. Take care of her. Protect her." "I plan on doing just that. Go back to sleep."

With that I severed the bond. Sighing I looked down at her one last time, her face is buried in my chest. Closing my eyes, I touched her mind for a second, then drifted off listening to slow and steady heartbeat.

Opening my eyes, Beth is still nestled in my arms sleep. Listening, Brian is still sleeping. Untangling my legs from her, I slowly got out of bed trying not to wake her. Grabbing some clothes I made my way to the bathroom. Quickly I showered and dressed in jeans and button up dark blue shirt, with a white under shirt.

Raking my fingers through my hair, I can't stop thinking about what happened last night.

In my over three hundred years on this planet, I have never encountered a girl like her. Sure I've lived for a long time, but in all that time I haven't really lived.

I spent most of these years training, and being an agent for the agency.

Sure I get to go all over the county; but I never get to see the true beauty of the world. Sometimes I wish that I was just a normal person, with their own life.

But with this girl that all might change, when I tapped into her memories I saw how happy she was as a child, her family was her whole world. Then her mother went back to work, and all that seemed to changed, the three of them started to drift apart; and she was left alone.

Sighing I went out there Beth is still asleep, taking the room key I left heading down to the lobby.

Stepping up to the front desk a lovely young lady is there.

"Good morning sir. What may I help you with?" "Hello Linda. I would like to see a room service menu." She nodded. "Of course sir." Taking the menu I asked for a pad of paper and a pen.

Righting down everything I wanted. "Please have the kitchen have everything ready for when I get back." Looking at my watch it's 7:30. "Please have it ready for 8:45. I will be here to pick it up." I wrote my name on the paper handing it over. "Of course sir." "Thank you." Stepping outside I decided to walk to my destination.

There's a costume shop not from here, I saw in one of her memories. She was so happy going to mascaraed parties and Mardi gras parties. Every now and then we hold balls and what not, so this time I am going to create a mascaraed ball all for her.

Try to bring some joy to her life. Stopping outside the shop I knocked and an elderly gentleman opened for me. "May I help you young man?" "Yes sir. I need a few things from your shop. And it's quite urgent." "I don't open for another hour. But come in and have a look." Smiling at him. "Thank you." Walking through the store there's everything you could possibly need. Grabbing a basket I started picking masks. One for every member of my family. That's all there get, the rest will be up to them.

Then I started going through the rack of dresses looking for the perfect dress for Beth. While looking I found a ruby tiara and necklace that would be perfect on her. For the princess she is.

Grabbing them I continued my search for a dress.

Then I found it, a floor length dark red, with beading on the front, black tool draping over the skirt, thick straps over the shoulders going down the open back, forming wings, reaching the waist, the wings even have feathers, forming the wings. It's perfect and it's even her size, yes I know her size. Setting it all on the counter, she is going to look beautiful in that dress. I looked at my watch, I don't have much time left, and I paid said thank you and left.

Making a quick stop at the flower shop, got a single red rose and ran back to the hotel. Before stepping inside I dropped my bags at the car except for the rose. Hiding the bags under her bags.

Just as I walked through the door, Linda appeared with a cart with everything I ordered on it. Smiling at her. "Thank you Linda." I handed her some money, taking the cart I headed up to our room hoping there both still sleeping.

Poking my head in, Brian is still on the couch, pushing the cart in Brian sat up, giving me a look. Stopping, I gave him a smile. "Where have you been?" "I had some things I had to do. Is she still sleep?" He nodded. sighing in relief.

"Good. Help me get the food ready." Setting the plates, jugs and glasses on the table. "Text mom and tell them to come over for breakfast." He nodded. "Sure thing." Picking up her bag I tiptoed into the room, setting it down; she's still asleep. Setting the rose on the pillow next to her, I kissed her head and left before she caught me.

I only hope that it will make her smile. I've only known her a short while, but already I am so whipped! "Your parents will be here shortly."

I nodded, grabbing some blood. Looking at the table, everything is perfect. Yep definitely whipped.
