"I'm thirsty." I said looking at the four of them. "I'll get her some water." The one in the back, said disappearing from sight.
I looked around, there's machines, and all kinds of different tubes attached to me. My head is killing me, touching my forehead, there's fresh stiches where my head was split open.
"Here drink this, but slowly." Gabriel held the glass to my lips, helping me drink. Setting the now empty glass down, Gabriel wiped a tear from my cheek, I hadn't realized that I was now crying. I have to be stronger than this. "Hey it's okay. We won't hurt you." He got off the bed. "Please just let me go home. I promise, I won't talk, just let me go." The woman stepped forward, setting a hand on my leg. "I'm sorry Elizabeth, we can't let you go. Not yet, at least; not until we find whoever attacked you and killed your parents. It's for your own safety, but it's the way it has to be dear." I looked at her. "Why?" "You're still a target. Until we find whoever it is, you can't go home." I sighed leaning back; everything in my body hurts. Moving the blanket my body is so frail, so skinny. "I know it's a shock. You wouldn't eat, I couldn't make you eat. I was so scared, when I found you on the floor like that."
He said, his eyes started to change colour.
I looked at the others, I can tell by the way there looking at him; he doesn't act like this every day.
"So what's going to happen to me?" Gabriel started to say something, but the woman stopped him.
"Honey let's get you cleaned up, then we'll go out and talk." I nodded. "Wait, who are you?" She smiled. "Well I'm his mother." I nodded. "Okay." Is all I can say to her, his mom. "Alright you three, out you go. We'll be out shortly."
Reluctantly Gabriel left, closing the door.
"Alright honey let's get some of this stuff off you." I nodded. "Yes please."
Walking over she started turning off all the machines around me, and unclipped the wires.
But not any of the tubes.
"We'll have a shower later on, for right now let's get you cleaned up, and head out."
She got me some new clothes. "Why are you being so nice to me? You don't even know me." She gave me a smile. "Honey this is what we do. We save people. And you're important to us. Now enough of that."
She undid my I.V and helped me with a long skirt that doesn't belong to me, but it's my size. "Alright do you think you can walk?" Shaking my head. "I don't know. I'll try." She helped me stand, I tried to take a step, I stumbled, but she caught me. "We'll take this slow. Let's just take it one step at a time." I nodded and slowly we made our way out to the living room.
She sat me at the table, and positioned my I.V pole.
Looking around the room, it's a decent sized room, a leather couch, a couple chairs, flat screen mounted on the wall, there's even a few pieces of artwork on the walls.
There's a huge floor to ceiling window, the curtains are open, is snowing outside.
"Where the hell are am I?" Everyone gave me a look, it would appear that I said that out loud. "You're in the mountains of Whistler BC." "What? How?" Gabriel walked out from the kitchen, setting a plate down in front of me.
"We will tell you, but first you need to eat something."
Sighing I took a bite, trying really hard not spit it out.
"So tell me, who are you, and why am I here?" "These are my parents. My mom Pandora, and my dad Uther. We're vampires and we're keeping you safe." I looked at them all in turn. "Vampires? But they don't exist! This can't be really happening to me." "I'm sorry Darling, but we do exist."
The other male said. "And this joker is my best friend Brian. You'll have to excuse him. He's always like this." "You're all telling me the truth aren't you? And that thing, that attacked us, he's a vampire as well, isn't he?"
Everyone nodded at me, there telling me the truth. "Yes he is, we will find him, and take him out; you have our word on that. There's something important that we have to tell you. The cops called your cell, you need to go home, to deal with them."
I gave them all a look, like there all crazy.
"But I thought it wasn't safe for me to go back?" "It's not. That's why we're going with you." "Who?" "Myself, Brian." "I'm going we well my dear." His mom said. "With the numbers we will keep you safe."
I still can't believe any of this. I don't overly want to be here, but looking at them, I know they won't let me go. "Then when do we leave?" "As soon as you're ready." I nodded. "Alright. Everyone go pack a bag, we leave tonight." His mother said, motioning to everyone but Gabriel out.
"Are you going to be all right dear?" I nodded. "Yes thank you." She kissed my head and left, leaving the two of us alone. Neither one of us said a word to each other, just stared. Standing I said. "I should go take a shower." He nodded. "Of course. I'll help you." I glared at him. He put his hands up. "Not in that way. Just giving you a hand to your room." Sighing I nodded. "Okay." Is all I said, and allowed him to take my arm; as soon as he touched me, little sparks shoot across my skin, making me stop.
"What was that?" He gave me a look. "What was what?" "Didn't you feel that?" "No. I didn't feel anything, I'm sorry."
I didn't say anything, as he helped me to room, closing the door behind me.
