Two weeks later
Alim POV
"I woke up at 8:00 because I had just started as the CEO at my father's company. After a quick breakfast, of toast and coffee I headed out to the parking lot to hop into my sleek black Mercedes.
I stopped at Sahad's store to pick up a few things, and to my surprise, I bumped into Alamiin? Faiza! We both exclaimed simultaneously. It had been about two weeks since we last met," Faiza mentioned. "How are Waleed and Sageer, our in-laws?" I teased. "They're all doing well," she replied, rolling her eyes. "I hope Sageer is fine?" "Yes, he's even planning to bring his family next week," she added. "Wow, that's great news. I'm genuinely happy for you," I responded. "Thank you," she said. "Alim, when are you planning to get married?" she inquired. "Or are you still not dating?" Her question made me think of Iklas, and I found myself smiling. "Why are you smiling?" she asked. "Oh, are you thinking about Hana's friend... what's her name again, Iklas?" she remembered. "Yes, most of the conversations I have when I'm in London are with Iklas. She's the one who initiates them. Don't blame me; I never know what to say to her," I explained. "Why can't you at least consider loving her? She's so cute and beautiful," Faiza suggested. I just smiled and replied, "She sees me as a brother." After that, I settled the bill before we strolled out.
In the car, we chatted about our time in London, Nigerian girls asking me out, and everything in between. We laughed as if there was no tomorrow until I checked my watch and realized I was running late. We exchanged numbers before I hurried off.
Iklas pov
Today is turning out to be quite eventful. I am having a busy day at the hospital, dealing with various patients and medical tasks. In the morning, I get ready for work, grab my car keys, and bid farewell to my parents before heading out.
On my way to the hospital, I make a quick stop at Sahad store to pick up some ice cream and Pringles since I haven't had breakfast yet. After making my purchase, I exit the store and approach my car. To my surprise, I notice Ya Alim standing nearby with a girl, sharing laughter and joy. Seeing him like that with someone else hits me hard. It's natural for him to have a girlfriend, but it leaves me feeling a deep sense of heartache. It feels like a sharp pain in my chest, as if my heart has been pierced with a knife. I realize it might be time for me to consider giving someone else a chance. Maybe our paths aren't meant to align. The emotions overwhelm me, and tears well up in my eyes.
Upon reaching the hospital, I meet with my colleagues, and we delve into our tasks for the day. The day progresses with its usual hustle and bustle, and by 4 o'clock, I wrap up my duties and make my way back home.
Later in the day, Hanan reaches out to me, suggesting we go out and have some fun. She offers to pick me up, so I adorn myself in a beautiful blue kimono paired with a black veil.
When Hanan arrives to pick me up, to my surprise, I find Ya Alim and Ya Mus'ab seated in the front of the car, with Hanan in the back. I hesitantly take a seat in the back, feeling a mix of emotions. Hanan expresses her surprise at the unexpected company, and even I assume it would be just the two of us. Laughter fills the air, but within me, a whirlwind of thoughts and emotions stirs.
We strolled into Valentino, our hearts set on indulging in some delicious ice cream. As we settled at a table and placed our orders, the atmosphere was suddenly disrupted by the arrival of two rather foolish girls. One of them boldly took a seat across from Ya Mus'ab and rudely pushed me, while the other targeted Hanan in a similar manner. We exchanged incredulous looks, silently questioning their behavior with a mix of amusement and bewilderment.
The first girl attempted to engage Ya Alim in conversation, but he remained unfazed, engrossed in his phone screen, seemingly oblivious to her presence. Meanwhile, the second girl directed her attention towards Ya Mus'ab, only to be met with silence. Frustrated, she turned away and made a snide comment about our 'mute' brothers. Hanan, never one to shy away from speaking her mind, promptly put her in her place, calling out her lack of manners and class.
