"¿Qué haces con mi calculators? "(What are you doing with my calculator)

"It's not your's it has an engraving under the power key" Martin raised his eyebrows and placed his glasses on top of his head. Brought a glass of whiskey to his mouth and took a delayed sip.

"Y dices que es solo un amigo". You proposed to the girl. You think I don't remember what names go with what people?"(And you say she's just a friend)

"Until she accepts it she is just a friend. I don't want her to settle for me and vice-versa."

He shook his head. " If she turned you down let her go and stop washing your feet in dirty water. If she doesn't want you she won't stay."

"I'm not sure if I want her back dad."

" I understand. That can change a man."

"Bianchi can change a man."

Martin's eyes widened and he chuckled, "Is that supposed to mean something?"

"Not to you."

"Haven't you got clubs to run?"

" The managers are doing their jobs."

"Why are you doing this?"

Ashton's father didn't understand. The boy wanted to delve his self into business and such when he didn't have to work a day in his life. The only reason why his father owned an accountancy firm is that because wanted to have a reason to get away from his then-wife and as far as Martin knew Ashton didn't have that problem.

" You own an accountancy firm. Call it a childhood dream,"

"¿De qué otra forma voy a controlar el dinero de todos los demás?" Martin took a pause and gave his son a knowing look, "Sé lo que realmente sucede en ese club". (How else am I going to control everyone else's money?)("I know what really happens at that club.")

"How else am I going to know everyone's else's business?"

"Touche."

Ashton was interrupted by his phone ringing. "Nathaniel"

"Papà I'm just going to take this call and then we can go."

Ashton faced away from his dad to give him a sense of privacy even though Martin was intently listening to his son's conversation.

He loved his son in his own way. The only way he could, it wasn't conventional but it was just about acceptable. It was more of an I'm not good at being a dad but we can be friends approach. Martin did the same to his other estranged children. Couldn't really say the same about the bitch he called his first wife. He could just about hear her name, without feeling a sense of rage besides utter it.
