Here's the new chapter, I hope you all enjoy reading it!
Chapter Fourteen: Terror at sunrise
I wake up on my bed, happy when I realized that I was back in the Lair.
Yay, I'm back again! It's been two days!
As sleep began to wear off, I realized that there was a strange type of song playing, more like a birds melody. It seemed so distant, and yet so close at the same time.
The beautiful song was like a lullaby, something I knew Raph wouldn't allow to be on.
Where is it coming from??
Still confused, I slowly opened my door. When I entered the hall, I couldn't help but smile.
I tried to follow the music, but when it didn't get any louder, I walked towards the main area of the Lair.
My eyes landed on the pit, where Donnie, Leo, and April were watching cartoons. Raph and Casey were nearby, using one of the game machines.
Even a couple days away from here feels like a lifetime.
"You're awake!" Leo suddenly leapt off the couch, staring at me with shock. The others all abruptly turned, watching me with surprise and relief.
"Mikey, I need to test your condition again now that you're conscious. You took an awfully hard hit during that storm-"
Donnie cuts himself off when I raise my left hand, motioning for him to be silent.
The music began to get a louder melody, and I decided to ignore them until I found the source. Instead of joining them, I walked aimlessly around, narrowing my eyes as I checked everywhere I could think of.
The others were used to me to doing weird things, but I could tell they were getting suspicious. Especially when I started looking under pillows...
Come on, it has to be coming from somewhere!
I let out a sigh of annoyance, shuffling through a pile of comics.
Suddenly, I felt a hand touch my shoulder. I jumped, letting out a yelp of surprise as I quickly turned. I relaxed when I saw it was just Raph, but tensed when I saw his annoyed yet questioning look.
"What the shell are you looking for, Mikey?" He growled, taking a step back.
I glanced behind him, noticing everyone looking at us. The music kept on playing, and I knew that my irritation was beginning to show.
"I'm... I'm trying to find out where it's coming from...?" I explain, looking around in confusion.
At this, Leo leapt off of the floor, clearly alarmed. He marched over to me, grabbing my arm. I gave him a weird look, trying to move away.
"What are you talking about? Did you hear someone else that's not us??" He asked, narrowing his eyes.
"No, but I-" I cut myself off when the music seems to become louder on my right side, as if a bird was singing a few feet away from my head.
I hurried towards it, wherever it was, and soon found myself standing near the Dojo. I quickly realize that the sound is still not any closer, and let out a huff of frustration.
The music suddenly becomes louder, more quick and frantic, and I can barely make out the hushed whispers of the others as I look around in alarm.
"OKAY, WHERE IS THAT COMING FROM?!" I snap, furiously stomping my foot.
Woah, now I know how Raph feels during one of his daily tantrums.
"Mikey? Are you okay?" Donnie asked.
His voice was distant, and could only just be heard in my mind.
I open my mouth to respond, but freeze when the music abruptly fades into the distance. Confused, I glance around.
I feel someone put their hand on the back of my shell, and turn to see Leo looking down at me. The others were crowded behind him, either crossing their arms or staring at me as if I was dressed as a slice of pizza.
Mmmmmm, pizza...
"I-I'm fine, I think, but where did the music-" I cut myself off when a loud screech sounds in my ears, making me collapse to the ground.
Screaming in pain, I frantically press my hands against my head. I yelp when the horrible sound comes again, and I desperately cry out as I feel my body spasm.
The world spins and blurs around me, and the familiar surroundings of my home disappear...
* * *
I open my eyes to find myself back in the other realm, where I immediately gasp in shock.
The terrifying creature from earlier hovers over me, jagged beak inches above my face. It's black spikes cast shadows on the rocks, and the scarlet scales glittered in the dawn sunlight.
The Akuma let out a terrible screech, wrapping it's long claws around my body.
"AGHHHHH! HELP!"
