28| Breathe...

To anyone who reads my TMNT fanfiction "Game Over": sorry but I won't be updating today, it's really late and I'm tired xD

Hey guys, here's a new chapter! I also wanted to just recommend one of my favorite TMNT fanfictions on wattpad, it deserves so much recognition!! (It's called "Through a Wolf's Eyes" by LegendaryWolfofMusic !)

Chapter Twenty-Eight: Breathe...

"What happened to that voice, why did it leave too??" I question, shaking slightly. "Please come back, you're needed right now..." I whispered, lip trembling.

And as my eyelids slowly shut, I swear I could hear a voice say...

"No. You are."

Third POV...

It had been thirty minutes since Mikey passed out, just in time for the wild beast to launch forward, bloody jaws from previous kills about to clench around his green throat.

But Doku had activated her powers, her tail lighting up in flames, pointed tip slicing deep into the creatures side.

Now Mikey lay on the outskirts of the dark forest, where she and Rosebud had cautiously dragged him to. He had awoken from his freezing cold state moments before, launching off the ground and stumbling around.

It had taken both of their strength to lay him back down, where his eyes anxiously still darted around, as he anxiously whispered hushed words under his breath.

Mikey's POV...

The three of us walked across the land, heading towards the nearby cave exit. I was finally calming down, but my ragged breathing seemed to be constant.

Breathe... Breathe... Breathe...

You're okay, you're okay, everything's going to be fine, you're in a safe place with safe people now...

Letting out a long sigh, I tiredly walked a bit ahead of Rosebud and Doku, trying to clear my mind. Becoming bored, I studied the rocky landscape, eyes trailing across boulders and patches of grass and ferns.

And that was when I saw them.

Two familiar figures were resting nearby. The taller one was sharpening his sword, while the smaller one was laying down on a rock and staring blankly up at the sky.

Gasping with excitement, I rushed towards them.

"Usagi! Karasu!" I yell, skidding to a halt a few feet away.

Both of them immediately turned, eyes widening at the sound of my voice. While Usagi carefully put his weapon away, Karasu bounced forward.

"Turtle! You're back!" Karasu yelled, lashing his tail with excitement. Then he paused, rolling his dark green eyes.

"Not that I missed you or anything..." He muttered, looking away.

I grinned down at him, but looked away when I felt Usagi rest a hand on my shoulder. I turned to him, a questioning look in my eyes.

"It is a relief to see you once more, Michelangelo-chan." He dipped his head slightly, and I returned the gesture, my smile growing larger.

"Good to see you to, Usagi dude!" I cheered, then tipping my head in curiosity.

"Did you think I was dead or something?? I mean I knew you guys were alive and would be here, so I used my awesome ninja skills- and amazing new friends-"

Doku snorted at that, but I quickly continued.

"To find you both!" I finished, a proud look on my face.

Before Usagi could respond, Karasu took a few steps towards me, flicking his furry ears. Curious, I watched as he pulled out a familiar ninja star from his robe pocket.

"We found this and your and others tracks in a meadow, figured that meant you were alive and heading for our spot." He explained, tossing the small weapon to me.

I carefully caught it, weakly smiling down at the beautifully carved symbol. The Hamato Clan...

I miss my brothers and everyone else so much... What must they be thinking?? I didn't say much, but they do know I've been switching between realms; if they even believe that...

I should've told them more earlier, when I still had the chance.

"We must continue on our journey now. But first... Would you care to introduce your companions?" Usagi's voice snapped me out of my thoughts, and I glanced up in surprise.

Turning around, I spotted Doku and Rosebud a dozen feet away.

Rosebud was watching with wide, curious eyes; while Doku was impatiently tapping her foot on the grassy earth, icy blue eyes distant as she impatiently waited.

"Oh, sorry!" I nervously laughed, hurrying towards them.

"This is Rosebud, I met her at Hinu- Hano- uh, a cool cavern place!" I grinned, excitedly gesturing to Rosebud. She immediately perked up, eyes brightening.

Then I turned to Doku, bouncing so I was right next to her.

Doku curled her lip, leaning away from me and lashing her tail, but I didn't care to notice.

"And this is Doku, she helped me and Rosebud out of the Land of Forbidden- cool name for a scary volcano fire place, right?" I happily grinned, stepping away.

There was a second of silence, before Karasu snorted.

"They don't look like they're normal. Why does the girl with the tail have so much skin and weird features? Kinda reminds me of the picture of people you showed me on that... 'T-Phone' of yours, with those two... 'Humans'?" Karasu tipped his head, before continuing.

"And why is the raspberry colored tiger thing positioned like that, someone who walks on four legs? What species is-"

"Karasu. That's enough." Usagi ordered, voice stern.

The rest of us just stood in stunned silence; even Doku seemed to be momentarily taken aback by Karasu's rudeness, and I couldn't help but wince.

Well I hope the rest of this journey will be a bit more jolly...
