Frustrated and incredibly troubled, Max ran home, with his clothes soaking wet. When he entered his house, his parents were already watching the incident on the news with guilt stricken faces.

"Mom! My powers nearly killed (Y/N)! I don't know what to do!"

His mom bit her lip, running her fingers through her son's drenched hair, "Max, there's something we haven't been honest about."

Max looked up at his mother, "Family meeting."

.

"Guys, there's something we lied to you about." Hank began, holding his wife's hand.

"We didn't move to Hiddenville to give you a normal life."

"What? Then why did we leave Metroburg?" Asked Nora from her seat on the couch.

"I'm going to tell you a little story." Barb sighed, sitting in between her children.

"Nearly 20 years ago, I was at one of the very few weddings between a human and a superhero. That superhero was my best friend and," She swallowed heavily, "(Y/N)'s mother."

"She married (Y/N)'s father and they were going to have a child. Now, since she married a human, it wasn't certain if they'd have a baby with super powers, but since she went through a super-pregnancy it seemed like it would be, but (Y/N) was born without powers and she didn't go through any super hero growth spurts. They were convinced she was a non-supe."

Barb sighed, feeling tears and her husband continued, tightening his grip on her hand, "(Y/N)'s father back-stabbed her mother, he revealed her location and she was killed and he went on the run with (Y/N)."

Barb sniffled, wiping a few stray tears, "(Y/N) was found nearly 2 years ago and she was living here, that's why we moved."

"W-Why not just tell her?" Asked Max.

"Because her mother wanted her as far as possible from this life if she had no powers, but now that she does, it's time we tell her the truth."

"Wait, she has powers?" "Yes, what happened at the mall and the incidents that had been taking place was because of her powers, not yours, Max."

Her son's eyes widened, "Shit!"

"What? What happened?"

"That was (Y/N)'s powers?!"

His mother just nodded numbly and he ran a hand through his hair, "Shit. I thought it was mine! I thought I would hurt her, so I just left!"

"You left her there?!" Phoebe stared at him with disbelief.

"I thought she might get hurt if my powers kept acting up. I didn't know it wasn't hers. She's going to hate me know."

Phoebe sighed and sat next to her brother, wrapping an arm around him, "Don't worry, I'll talk to her."

He shook his head, "Don't bother, when you tell her about her mom she's going to have enough to think about. I'll tell her myself when she's feeling better."

"Are you sure?"

He nodded, "I'm sure."
