The Battle for The Mushroom Kingdom: part one

Peach took a deep breath. They were marching towards her kingdom, which was infested with enemies. Bowser wasn't in control of them however, and he was gonna make sure to teach them a lesson. Mario was leading ahead of them, with Luigi cowering in fear behind him. Peach and Daisy were riding on a Yoshi. 

"Daisy," Peach said.

"Hm?"

"Let's stay together. I don't want to risk loosing you."

"As you wish, princess."

"Your my best friend, Daisy."

"You too, Peach. Now, it's time for us to get into battle." 

"Huh?" Daisy pushed herself and Peach off the Yoshi, just in time to dodge a Koopa shell. The shell was purple, and smoke was coming from it. The Koopa popped out and went for a hit. Bowser smacked him, taking him out in one hit. 

"That was close, be more careful, will ya, dinosaur?" Bowser glared. Yoshi nodded and stuck his tongue out. Bowser turned to his son. "Jr, make sure to stay behind, alright."

"Yes, papa," Bowser Jr said.

"Shush! They're coming," Mario whispered yelled.

"Oh no," Luigi gasped and nearly fainted. Daisy grabbed him by the collar and shook him.

"Now's not the time to be the second-fiddle!" She yelled.

"Shush!"

Soon, they were surrounded by Koopas, Goombas, Bob-ombs, and a bunch of other monsters. They huddled up in a circle facing the enemies. Peach took out her parasol and Daisy a wood bat, ready to swing at any monster that comes their way. She noticed that they were purple, and their eyes were yellow. They moved away, opening the way for a tall, ghost-like creature with a bow-tie with bat wings. It was also purple with yellow eyes. And it had quite the devilish grin plastered on it's face.

"Mario, that's Antasma!" Luigi pointed out. Mario nodded, his fists lit up with fire.

"I thought we destroyed you?!" Mario yelled. Antasma simply laughed and backed away, disappearing behind the army of enemies.

"We're doomed," Luigi whispered.

"Don't be such a pessimist! We can do this," Daisy smirked. "Now let's go beat these monsters' asses!" She ran forwards and started to beat the crap out of them with just a bat. She groaned a little when her long dress got in the way, but she continued.

"Daisy-"

"No, princess, we have to attack and hope to get the castle back," Mario said. Peach sighed and nodded. She took her parasol and charged forwards. She joined up with Daisy and both hit a portion of them with their hips.

Battle raged on, and it was looking pretty good on their side. They had the advantage of actually being smart and not just doing one single attack. Peach countered a Hammer Bro's attack with her toad. It disgusted her a little when he threw up all over the Koopa, but she ignored it and put him back... under her skirt?

Staying together, Peach and Daisy were taking out monsters left and right. Combining their power made things a lot easier. Peach slapped a Spike then launched him in the air.

"Look out, Peach!" Daisy yelled. Peach gasped and moved away from an exploding Bob-omb, just in time thankfully.

"Woah, that was close, thanks Dais!" Peach smiled. Daisy smiled and nodded and used her own parasol and stabbed it inside an enemy. She quickly took it out, and was surprised to see no blood on it.

"Hold on, there should be blood on this," Daisy murmured. She saw a Goomba coming at her, so she punched it in the face. Peach stood next to her and examined the parasol.

"Yeah, there should," Peach said. They're eyes widen. They looked at each other than back at the army in front of them.

"They... they're not real," Peach said.

"No wonder their attacks weren't hurting me," Daisy said. She looked at her arm, where there should've been a bruise from when a Hammer Bro hit her. But there wasn't. Yet she had felt the pain, or something like it. Shock? Maybe.

"They weren't?" Peach asked.

"I mean, I felt it, but it wasn't pain, I... I don't know how to describe it," Daisy said. She gasped and shoved Peach out of the way. Peach yelped and stumbled a little before regaining her balance. She looked back at Daisy, she was fighting off a Hammer Bro, whose hammer was right on her forearm. Peach took her frying pan and smacked it on its head. It fell to the ground, and dissolved into purple dust.

"Okay, definitely not real, they explode when they die, not dissolve," Daisy grimaced as she rubbed her arm.

"You alright?" Peach asked.

"I'll be fine," Daisy flashed her a smile. "Antasma must be the cause of this. He can create illusions, right?"

"I think so," Peach sighed.

"Peach? Isn't it a little weird that, even though we're standing in the middle of a fight, monsters aren't attacking us?" Daisy asked.

"Yeah, actually, wait, that is weird-"

"MOVE!" Daisy shoved Peach out of the way when she noticed two figures behind them. Peach yelled and fell face first into the ground. She supported herself with her forearms, and turned her head.

Everything seemed to go in slow motion for her then.

She saw as two shadows in the shape of herself and her friend thrusting the pointy end of their parasol into her chest. Daisy's eyes were wide, and blood dripped out of her mouth. The shadow creatures smirked and giggled. They took the parasols out, and she noticed the dripping blood from them. Peach's eyes were full of terror and grief. The shadows giggled again before disappearing. Daisy fell to the ground, with two wholes on her chest. Peach started to breath heavily and tears poured down her pale cheeks. 

"DAISY!!"
