The Battle for Skyworld

Battle had already begun in the sky. Palutena and Viridi had given their respected angels the power of flight, since they would need it for today. Pit shot his arrows and slashed down multiple enemies as more flocks of them came in. He and Palutena were handling the monsters in the sky, while Viridi and Dark Pit took out the monsters on the ground.

"There's so many of them!" Pit said, killing a Monoeye.

"We have to keep going! Kill as many as you can!" Palutena said.

"I know," Pit said. "Viridi how are things down there?!"

"There's a lot of them! I don't know if Pittoo and I can take them all," she quickly answered.

"I'm fine as I am, I don't know about you though," Dark Pit said.

"Hey! What's that supposed to mean? For your information, I am very powerful!"

"Sure."

"Do you want me to punish you?"

"Ew."

"Can you two stop arguing and focus?!" Palutena yelled.

"Shut up and let me do what I want!" Viridi said. A large tree popped out of the ground, with enemies trapped inside it. Pit rolled his eyes and continued slaughtering enemies.

There were so many of them, it was like they were trying to ambush them. Even those of the Skyworld army were having difficulty. He saw as many of his comrades fell from the sky as the enemies continued to hunt. He sighed and looked down. There was no way they would be able to beat the enemy with how many of them there were.  They were sure to get pressured back if things kept going this way. If only Robin were here, I bet he'd see a way out of this,  Pit thought.

A sound came from the ground as birds started flying away. Pit dodged them as they quickly flew away.

"What was that sound?" Palutena asked.

"I don't know, Viridi?" Pit said.

"How am I supposed to know- AH!"

"Viridi? Hey, Viridi what happened?!" Pit yelled. Fire erupted from the ground, burning any enemy or ally that flew above it.

"Oh Pitty Pat!"

"Oh fuck off. Really, Hades?!" Dark Pit said as he flew up from the ground, no Viridi with him.

"Where's Viridi?" Pit asked.

"She retreated. She got seriously hit by that fire, so she left me with the power of flight," Dark Pit said and flew up to Pit's side.

"Well now, what do you have here? If it isn't my little Pitty Pat?" Hades said once he fully rose from the ground.

"Are you serious right now?" Pit groaned.

"We meet yet again," Hades said.

"Why are you here?!" Palutena yelled.

"I just wanted to have some fun? Is that so wrong?" Hades said as he sent purple balls of fire at them.

"Dodge!" Pit said.

"No shit?!" Dark Pit yelled.

"What are you dodging for? It doesn't hurt!" Hades said.

"Just keep shooting at him, there's not much we can do," Palutena said, firing her reticle at him. Pit and Dark Pit nodded, flying towards him. They got close to either of his arms and started shooting at the barnacle-like guns that were shooting out the fire.

"Oh come on, I use this for weddings!" Hades smacked the two angels away with his arms, sending them falling rapidly to the ground. They were able to compose themselves before they hit the ground, and flew back up.

Pit separated his blades and aimed for Hade's eyes. He couldn't react quick enough, and Pit was able to stab his eyes, blinding him momentarily. Hades groaned and waved his arms around, but Pit flew away before he was hit.

"Are you guys alright?" Palutena asked.

"My back hurts," Dark Pit answered.

"You should leave, Lady Palutena. It's too dangerous!" Pit said.

"As if."

"But-"

"No, Pit."

"Okayyy."

Hades growled as his eyes grew back. He smirked. "You've made me angry! How rude of you to blind my beautiful eyes!" Hades erupted in flames, launching himself towards the trio. They moved out of the way, still getting a little burned.

"There's no way we can beat him like that! He's too strong," Dark Pit said.

"Play defense for now, it's all we can do. If you get too close, your wings will burn," Palutena said.

"There's no other choice. We have to beat him now, otherwise he'll burn the entire forest," Pit said, flying straight down at Hades.

"Pit, no!" Palutena screamed, going after him. Dark Pit groaned and face palmed, following them.

Pit felt a burst of energy within him as he approached Hades. The thought of being able to win and save everyone pushed him forward. Flames of different colors started appearing around him as his eyes turned yellow. He started getting closer to Hades, feeling as his wings started to burn.

"I'll end this now!" Pit yelled.

"Pit!" Palutena called.

"THREE SACRED TRESURES!"

Arrows started to rain down on Hades, three large ones going straight into his chest, through his heart. Finally, pillars of light burned him alive as all that was left was his torso. Pit groaned as he felt his energy leave him. If he didn't take out his torso, he could come back, but he didn't have enough energy left.

"Leave it to us!" Palutena yelled as she and Dark Pit flew past him. Colorful flames were around them too, giving them the energy necessary.

"Black hole!" Palutena raised her staff, a black hole appearing and keeping Hades' torso in one place. "Mega laser!" A blast of energy shot out from her staff, going straight through Hades' heart.

"Goodbye!" Dark Pit took out a staff of his own, a beam shooting out of it. The two lasers were enough to finally end Hades, putting out the fire his body caused.

"We did it," Palutena smiled. "We really did it!"

"Yeah but," Dark Pit looked behind them. Palutena turned her head, her eyes widening. Pit wasn't there. She looked around in a panic, tears brimming at her eyes.

"Pit? Hey Pit where are you?! Pit!"

***

Pit laid on the ground, feeling as all the energy in him left him. Every bone in his body was broken from the fall, so he couldn't even move. His wings had burned fully, leaving a few burned feathers behind. He coughed up some blood, thankful that he was face down so at least he wouldn't choke to death. He smiled slightly, closing his eyes.
