Chapter 11

The school's vacation at the Mushroom Kingdom had come to an end. After one week, they visited two beaches, an isle, a forest, and many other things. It was all entertaining and they enjoyed to have had some time spent off school. Now, it was time to go back.

They boarded the plane at around 6:30 pm, so the would get there between 7:30 and 8 depending on delays. The plane took off from the airport and most of them fell asleep. Except Zelda. She was very worried. After the call from her father, she had been unable to sleep. Nightmares of her father's death haunted her and woke her up whenever she even tried to sleep. So not only was she worried, but she was extremely tired.

The plane landed at the Universes Connected Airport and the students got off the plane. They spent like thirty minutes getting through security and other things before finally exiting and returning to their homes.

"Can someone give me a ride?" Pit yawned. He had recently woken up from his nap. Someone had to carry him through security. 

"Pit none of us can give you a ride; we don't have our cars if you hadn't noticed," Marth said.

"Right, well I'll just fly home, see you," Pit said and floated his way back home, and falling a couple times.

"How lazy," Lucina said. "Well, we're going home, bye." She and Robin walked home, hand in hand.

"Yeah, bye guys," Peach said and Daisy waved as the walked away. Soon only Time, Link and Zelda were left. The Zelda's phone started ringing.

"Sorry, you guys go ahead, I'll catch up with you," Zelda said. They both nodded and walked but stopped after getting a few feet away. "Hello?" The voice on the other side sounded panicked and sad at the same time.

"Zelda?! Finally you answered! I've been trying to call you for the past hour!"

"I-I'm sorry Impa, I just got out of the airport. Is there something wrong?! You sound very panicked," Zelda said, starting to panic a little too. She heard Impa sob and sniff.

"Zelda, something has gone horribly wrong," Impa chocked out.

"What happened?! Is Hyrule alright?!" Zelda asked, panicking more by the second.

"No, no, Hyrule is fine! Everything is okay! It's something else," Impa said, chocking down more sobs. "Zelda, I'm so, so, so sorry. We did everything we could, but I'm afraid... You're father... he's..." Zelda nearly let her phone drop. Not him. Not him too. Not her only family.

"Impa, you're kidding right?! You're kidding with me right?! PLEASE TELL ME IT'S NOT TRUE!!" She tried to keep them in but couldn't she let her tears  flow freely. Her lip quivered as did the rest of her body. Link walked closer to her while Time stopped and looked back.

"Zelda, I'm so sorry, we did everything we could, but we couldn't save him. Please come to Hyrule tomorrow," Impa said and hung up. Zelda dropped to her knees, covering her face with her hands. Link ran to her and so did Time.

"Hey! Hey what's wrong? What happened?!" Link said and hugged her close to his chest. He mouthed to Time to go pick up Sapphire and get to her house. He nodded and ran off.

She was in too much pain to form clear sentences. When she tried to tell him, all that came out were chokes and sobs.

"Sh, it's okay," He rubbed her head gently and hugged her tighter. "Here, let's go home. I'll stay with you the whole night if you want me to." Zelda nodded quickly and buried her face into his chest. Link took her backpack and swung it over his shoulder. He picked her up bridal style and carried her home. He really wanted to know what happened, but he knew she would tell him eventually.
