Chapter 11,

Thanksgiving Dinner

(Jacklyn's POV.)

"Alright, everyone, hold hands and let us bow our heads in grace." Grandma smiles at all of us at the table. In total there were over thirty of us, all of our family, some who had brought friends, and Dad and Grandpa had gotten out the big dinner table and set it up.

Grandma and Grandpa had a huge house, it was more of a mansion though, three stories, four bedrooms, two bathrooms on each floor.

We all took hands and bowed as Grandpa prayed, "Dear Heavenly Father, we thank you for this meal and for this beautiful family. We thank you for your grace and for your guidance. We thank you for this roof over our heads, and everything you have given us, we thank you for all of this and hope that you continue to guide us to your light. Amen."

"Amen." We all repeat, raising our bowed heads and unclasping hands.

"Time to dig in!" Jack exclaims and we all laugh.

"I bet Food's not the only thing you want to dig into," smirks Dustin and I scowl at the asshole that unfortunately is my cousin.

Jack glares at Dustin, hatred in his eyes, and if you know Jack then you know it's rare to see the look of hatred or anger on him. That's not who Jack is, but Dustin brings it out in him.

"Stop being a prick Dustin." I say to him, defending my brother.

"Stop being a bitch Jacklyn," he mocks. I really want to punch that stupid face of his.

"Yeah Jacklyn, stop being a bitch," Abby teasingly laughs at me and I turn to scowl at her as I scoff at them.

"Sorry I don't flaunt myself about like you do Abby the big boobed bitch!"

She starts to reply when a throat clears, "now kids, this is our Thanksgiving dinner, let's not fight right now." Grandma reprimands with a stern glance.

"Yes," Grandpa adds, "if you wish to fight, wait til after dinner, then you can go outside and have it out."

"Dad!" Mom says, but I could see the amusement dancing in her eyes.

"Your hear that Abbs the Bitch, after we eat we can go outside and see who's the better fighter, what do you say. Bitch."

"Stop calling me a bitch!" She screeches in anger while shooting up from her seat.

"Abigail Forest! Sit your ass back down right this instant young lady!" Her Dad chastises, then turning to me adds, "and Jacklyn, stop antagonizing her. I don't care what you two do after dinner, but no broken bones this time, is that clear?"

"Yes Uncle Bryan." I sigh as Abby sits back down and begins to silently eat.

"Family drama is very dramatic in your family." Ethan whispers into my ear, his breath tickling my neck and face as he laces our hands together under the table.
