Authors Note: Hello my fellow Wattpadians, sorry for the extremely late update, I haven't had internet and we're back on overtime at work so my only day off is Sunday, but without further ado, I present you with Chapter 17 of Loyal Always.

Chapter 17, One Instance

"No!"

"Yes!"

"No!"

"Yes!" This had been going on for the last ten minutes, constant, back and forth.

And it was getting very annoying.

"Come on Jacky, you have to," Pete whines.

"No I don't and I won't Pete, I'm sorry but no." I tell him.

"Yes!"

"No, no, no, and a million times no!"

"Okay, this whole back and forth thing isn't really getting us anywhere." He sighs.

"No shit."

We were in my backyard watching Kaiya and Trevor play, Mom and Ricky were inside with the babies and Jack was with Dad doing who knows what.

But this was nice.

Since Jack and Pete had been going out, I haven't really spent much time with my best friend, and honestly I missed this. Just us hanging out and talking about stupid shit.

"Please come with us, you can even bring Ethan."

"No." I instantly reply.

Pete smirks, "oh? Is that the reason you won't come with us, you don't want to have to bring Ethan because you don't want him to see you in your bathing suit?"

"Shut up!" I smack him on the arm.

"Ow!"

"You deserved it!"

"Maybe."

"You did."

"Okay fine, I deserved it, but please come Jacklyn."

Damn.

He said my full name, he says that when he really wants something that means a lot to him.

I look out at Kaiya and Trevor running around the yard playing tag as they laugh and giggle.

The sun shone brightly as a gale wind filled the air, swaying the leaves of the trees just a bit while the birds chirped their little songs.

And then I had an idea.

"Pete," I smile turning to him.

"Yeah?" He questions slowly, giving me a strange look like he knows I'm planning something.

And let's be honest here, he's my best friend. Of course he knows I'm planning something.

"I have an solution."

"Which is?"

"We all go."

"What?"

Rolling my eyes I clarify, "the lake. My whole family, and you of course, lets all go the lake this weekend, camp out outside, have a nice camp fire, swim like you were wanting, and just have a great time."
