Chapter 13, This is who we really are

Hello all my fellow Wattpadians, sorry for the late update, and I know that I posted on my profile that Id be doing an update Monday night. I was planning on staying at my sisters, but things came up and that didn't happen, so I am updating now.

Chapter 13,

This is who we really are

(Jacklyn's POV.)

"So are you and Ethan dating?" Jack asks me while we're all sitting down for breakfast, catching everyone's attention.

Mom winks at me while Dad huffs and turns away, Kaiya and Trevor lean in closer, wanting to hear my answer, Ricky eyes me, and Peter smiles.

"Um... Well not exactly, but I was kinda' thinking of asking him out," I say slowly.

"Absolutely not!" Dad shouts out, "you are not aloud to date!"

"Dad, I'm seventeen, and Jackson is fifteen and you're letting him date Peter!" I counter, then turning to my Mom I sigh and ask, "help?"

"Honey," Mom places a comforting hand on Dad's shoulder, "we've talked about this, she's old enough to make her own decisions and she likes this boy."

"Fine," he grumbles out, then turning his gaze on me adds, "do what you want Jacklyn, but that doesn't mean I have to like it."

"Thanks Dad, and thanks Mom," I smile and Jack high fives me, then turning to Kaiya I add, "take notes, Dad is going to be just as protective and stubborn over you when you get into your teenage years and get a boyfriend."

She scrunches up her face, replying, "Ew, boys have cooties."

We all laugh at that.

"That's my girl," Dad nods proudly and Mom and I roll our eyes at him. Classic Dad.

"You won't always think that little sis," Jack says to Kaiya with a smirk and she looks at him confused.

"How do you know?" She asks him and he laughs.

"Because I use to think that too and now me and Peter are dating." He replies and I snort, meanwhile Ricky just laughs, Trevor looks confused, Mom and Dad have amused looks on their faces, Kaiya just shrugs, and Peter is trying not to laugh.

"I still don't get it, but whatever." Kaiya remarks and continues eating breakfast.

"You'll understand when you're older honey," Mom explains with a gentle smile.

"Hey mom, Dad?" Jack says, catching their attention as they turn to him and he asks, "is it okay if I eat dinner with Peter and his mom tonight, and maybe go out with Pete after?"

"Sure honey," Mom nods smiling.

"You have a Ten O' Clock curfew, it's a school night, but as long as you're back by Ten, then it's fine with me." Dad answers with a small smile.

'Oh so it's that easy for Jack, but if I ask to go out with Ethan I get an immediate no!' I thought mentally rolling my eyes at my Dad.

"Well if they're going out, then I can call up Ethan, and me and him go out on a date tonight? We'll be back by Ten." I decide to try my luck, I knew Mom wouldn't mind, but Dad would be the one I'd have to fight.
