Authors Note
Hey guys, I know it's been a long while since I've last updated, I've been dealing with a lot of shit this past year and recently and I know that's no excuse. If you guys just bare with me here though, I promise to finish the book soon, I know exactly what I want to do and where I want to take it and how I want to end it. I've just got to write it all out.
At most there is probably going to be eight more chapters, at least four, but it most likely won't be longer than 26 chapters.
Anyways, sorry for the long wait here's the next chapter.
Chapter 19, Camping!
"Dad, can you help me set up my tent, I don't know what I'm doing wrong, but clearly I'm doing something wrong." I ask, looking at my lopsided tent with a frown.
He comes over to me and takes a look at it before laughing.
"What?!"
"You're missing a stake Jacklyn." He tells me, pointing at the single little stake just barely sticking out from under my tent bag.
"Oh," it must have rolled under there while I was putting the rest up.
"You think you can get it now, or do you still need my help?" He asks me smirking.
I roll my eyes, "I think I can get it now, thanks Dad."
"No problem, now I'm going to go have that talk with the kid like I said I was going to." He adds, causing me to look over at a smiling Ethan who is laughing along with Trevor while he helps him with his tent.
"Dad," I warn.
"Don't worry Jacklyn, I won't threaten the kid too much, I just want to have a little talk with him is all."
'Great," I thought, my dad is going to scare my boyfriend away after I just got him.
With a sigh I watch my Dad go over to Ethan, pulling him aside as my Dad says something to him before Ethan nods and they walk off into a clearing in the woods.
Well there goes my chance at love, it was nice knowing you Ethan, too bad I'll never see you again because my Dad is going to murder you and bury your body somewhere out in the words where it'll never be found. But it was nice while it lasted.
I look up when I feel a hand on my shoulder and sigh when I see my mother with a kind smile on her face.
"You have nothing to worry about Jacklyn, Your father just wants to talk to him, Ethan will be just fine." She tries to reassure me, but it was in vain because I would not believe any of it until I saw him come back in one piece with not a single scratch on him. "Your father loves you Jacklyn, he just wants to make sure that Ethan is good for you, he just want to protect you. He's getting older, he doesn't want to accept that his baby girl is growing up."
"So he's going to kill my boyfriend and bury his body somewhere in the woods where no one will ever be able to find him to stop me from growing up?! That's not how it works!"
