Chapter 31: The big news

Me: 8:24 pm
Isabella's POV
Soon we were all now gathered at the dining table. You could heard the chatting and laughter of everyone from miles away as we all enjoyed the beautiful moment.
I stared amusingly at the table surrounded by the most important people to me in the whole world. A smile slithered its way across my lips as I sat there,heart beating frantically butterflies in my tummy and an amazing feeling in my chest. Its moments like this that I tressure the most,having them around me. You never know what could have happened yet here we all are. I'd never take times like this for granted.
And then there was him. Carter.
The man I've come me to love so passionately over the years. I don't know where in this world I'd be without his love and protection. I stared dreamily at him as he spoke and laughed with my father who was seated right beside him. But all conversations seemed to have been blocked out as I admired him
His beautiful hair which has grown a lot taller now falling messily yet unbelievably sexy in his face. Those dazzling green eyes,and the small dimples that appeared on his cheeks as he spoke.
As if feeling my stare his eyes drifted to me sending me a small wink and a smile making me begin to blush.
After a while we served dinner and began to eat and to tell the truth I haven't enjoyed a meal this much in ages. The garlic butter grilled steak with a side of shrimp and cranberry champagne made my taste buds so happy and then there was dessert which consisted of a beautiful berry rare cheesecake which carter literally begged me to make.
"You guys have literally outdone yourselves" mom groaned devouring her last piece of cake dreamily making us all laugh
"Agreed" came my dads voice afterwards. I smiled at both of them.
"Are you ready to tell them now" carter leaned and whispered in my ear.
For a moment it felt like my mind went to another universe as his question soaked in.
Was I really ready to tell them?
Of course
But how? How do I even start?
"Princess?" Carter questioned gripping my hand as I looked up at him quickly enough to catch a glimpse of concern in his eyes."Are you okay?"
"Y-yeah..I'm..I'm fine"
"You didn't answer my question"
"Are you ready to tell them now?"
"Uh..yeah of course" I replied a bit unsurely making him narrow his eyes at me with a frown
"Like I said, if your not ready we can wait"
"Its okay I'm ready to tell them"
"Then what's the problem why are you looking so..lost"he asked looking into my eyes.
" Its just...I want to tell them, I really do but.. I don't know how" I confessed.
"Just say whatever comes to mind" he shrugged casually " I'm sure they'll all understand no matter what way you put it" he reassured giving my hand a light squeeze."okay?"
"Okay" I smiled up at him"let's do it"
"Now?" The shock took over his face
"Yes carter,now" I smiled at his sudden uneasiness
"Oh okay then"
I could see that even though he was the one encouraging me to do what I want and to believe I can tell them now, I knew he was a nervous mess on the inside and was just trying to cover it up. He may be a tough gang leader but he can get nervous too especially when it comes to things dealing with me.
Carter cleared his throat before we both stood"I would like to get everyone's attention " he said tapping the spoon on his glass ceasing all talking as the whole dining room grew dead silent and all eyes were now on us.
This is it!!
Carter looked over at me and sent me a reassuring smile giving me just the amount of courage I needed.
"Hi" I stupidly started off as everyone laughed and replied back"Tonight I have something very important to tell you all" I let out a shaky breath beginning to get nervous again. Carter saw my state and wrapped a comforting hand around my waist.
"You all know me and carter have been together for a long time. We went through a lot" I stated as everyone agreed with a nod and a smile."Through thick and thin but still we never once gave up on each other ,no matter the obstacle. And its because of those obstacles why we're here today our love being stronger than ever" I smiled looking over at the crowd of people, mostly my parents."Our love for each other has grown tremendously, I never knew I could possibly love anyone like I love him" the look of admiration in his eyes when I look down on him gives me another extra
"And I would like to tell you all that" I paused looking at everyone feeling carter give my waist a light squeeze. This was it.
I smiled
"I'm Pregnant "
