Chapter 30

Chapter 30: I'm gonna be a dad & I'm gonna be a mom

Carter's POV

Never in my entire life had I ever thought I'd one day be a dad. I could hardly speak, I didn't know how to react, how to handle the situation.. all I could do was stand there almost completely still as the words soaked in.

"I'll give you two some time " the doctor said walking out but I could hardly even focus on what she said due to the tightening feeling in my chest.

I looked over at Isabella as she laid there quietly anticipating my reaction. Her beautiful hazel eyes scanned my face for any signs of emotions as she laid there.

"I'm.. I'm gonna be a dad?" so far those were the only few words I could manage to stutter out.

She hesitantly smiled at me with a nod still a little unsure of what I think but I soon gave her a satisfying result as the biggest smile ever spread across my lips. Reaching down to her I planted a numerous amount of butterfly kisses all over her face as she began giggling.

"I'm gonna be a dad" I kept repeating as I hugged her closely to my chest, leaning my forehead against hers as a few stray tears rolled down my cheek. I couldn't help it.

"I love you so fucking much" I breathed out.

"I love you too" she Answered with a breathtaking smile and Before anything else was said or done there was a knock at the door.

"I'm coming in" the same doctor said as she stepped into the room."I see you two are taking it very well" she smiles at us as we smiled back l.

"Can you tell how long she's been pregnant?" I questioned

"I'd say about five almost six weeks" she answered"Didn't you notice any of the normal symptoms"? She asked bella "Like, a missed period,morning sickness,or any tenderness in the breast?"

"Well..I was throwing up a lot but I thought I was just a bit sick and I wasn't exactly keeping track of my period" she answered with a shrug.

"Do you guys use protection?" She asked lowering her glasses to eye us both.

"No" I answered "But I do pull out"i told her

"Except that one time" I heard Isabella say quickly from beside.

"When was that" I creased my eyebrows together looking over at her.

"Don't you remember?" She asked "The night when you told me you'd have to leave to go to Italy"

Thinking back on what she said I realized she was right. I actually didn't pull out that night

"Well I guess that's cleared up" the doctor said

After that she informed us on everything else about the baby.

Isabella's POV

A day later I was finally back home safe and sound curled up on the couch with Carter. We both laid there enjoying the silence that filled the room as I laid on top of him leaning my head in the crook of his neck,while he traced light circles on my lower back.

When I was in the hospital Carter filled me in on everything that was said to the police and luckily they believed us. It turns out we weren't the only victims of Jane. The police said they have been trying to get a hold of her for years now for all the murders she had committed. And even though she is now dead,they are still thankful that she isn't out killing people anymore.

We also found Amanda's son. Jane had him tied up in another room not far from where we found Carter. She apologized for what she had done and we're now friends again. Not as close as we normally were before but we're cool now

"What are you thinking about?" Carter asked bring me back to reality.

"Everything" I sighed "I can't believe we actually went through so much thought our relationship"

"But it was all worth it" carter smiled"Now we don't have to worry about anything anymore I can finally spend more time with you and take you out knowing we don't have to be constantly looking over our shoulders anymore."

"Yeah your right. Everything was all worth it. And with our beautiful angel on the way it just seems even more perfect" I smiled from ear to ear before placing a kiss on his soft lips.

"Speaking of which.." he trailed off"did you tell the girls yet?"

"Nope. Did you tell the guys"

"No" he answered making us both laugh. "Why not just gather them all here tonight and tell them at the same time" I suggested "I can just invite them over for dinner and call my parents as well and pop the big news at the end of the night"

"That's..actually a good idea" carter agreed.

"Great. Lets call them" I said. And without further adieu I called everyone and invited them over.

Carter helped me prepare dinner and set the the table making us finish just in time.

I was now in our bedroom getting dressed. Everyone was already here and waiting downstairs. Looking at myself in the mirror I tilted my head to the side examining my belly. Well I wasn't showing or anything but you could still see I gained a bit of weight.

Placing my palm over my stomach I just stared at myself with a smile. Soon Carter's reflection appeared in the mirror behind me. He planted a kiss on my cheek before he placed his hand over mine making my heart immediately drop and my cheeks flushed bright pink

"You ready?" He question leaning his head in the crook of my neck.

"I think so" I replied back leaning my head back on his shoulder.

"No baby,I need to hear a yes or no answer because we don't have to tell them today if you don't feel ready yet"

"Yes I'm ready. I'm not waiting any longer I'm telling them tonight" I assured him.

"Okay" he placed another kiss on my cheek " Let's do this then " he took my hand in his as we exited the room. Stopping at the top of the stairs I let out a heavy sigh before we both walked down.
